These are not high gain. They're ok. Not terrible, but definitely not a high gain pickup

These pickups sound pretty good! Well worth the price that I paid for them. Are they as good as more expensive brands/models? No…but they are pretty expressive pickups which don’t have any issues with unwanted noise. Capable of being coil split/tapped, though I didn’t do so. An affordable mod that definitely worked out well for me. I bought them on sale and spent less than $50 with new pots, caps, wiring, and output jack. I have no problem recommending them as an upgrade for most entry level and even some mid level guitars, especially if, like me, you enjoy trying different sounds without a big price tag.
