Exactly what was needed to replace the old door knocker. Only draw back was the 3/8" attachment bolts were 5/16" longer than the old 1/4" bolts. Had to dremmel off the extra so that the new bolts would fit.Looks great, lasts a long time.

Looks good. Bought to replace the same Schlage knocker that had become a marred and scarred. Though identical to the original knocker, the bolts were a tad longer than the old ones. Because knocker bolt channels require a different thread, i couldn't reuse the old ones. The fix was a couple of cup washers.

Heavy duty, not a cheap piece of stamped sheet metal like so many others, and nicely finished. Yes, you can have somebody engrave it with your name if you wish.

I purchased the brass door-knocker to go on a steel front door with 5" center-to-center holes. OK, exactly 5" center-to-center. So far so good. Oops, screws are too short to go through my 1 3/4" steel door. What? How can the screws be too short? Oh, I see! When putting the door-knocker against the door it stands out about 1/4". This door-knocker is meant to be counter-sunk into the door about 1/4". If it did go into counter-sunk holes than the screws would be the correct length.I am not about to enlarge the outside hole in my steel door to counter-sink this door-knocker - the size of the hole to counter-sink the door-knocker is somewhat larger than the screw hole. No where in the description does it indicated that this door-knocker is meant to be counter-sunk into the door. I just happened to have slightly longer screws with the correct threads so was able to mount the door knocker. So it is now on my front door with about a 1/4" space between the door-knocker and the door, barely better than nothing. I guess if you have a wood door it would probably be easy to enlarge the outside hole to counter-sink this door-knocker.

It looks nice but the screws were too short. they didn't reach the back of the door. Had to buy longer screws.
