Fish on. It's a fighter. If you aren't using a fight belt, this keeps you from stabbing yourself too many times with your own rod.

It’s made by Scottie! Works great! Wish it came with colour options, it’s great when you have a few guys /gals in the boat can easily pass it around as needed without a belt.

Nice to have if you're doing a lot of jigging with the rod butt against you... adds some comfort.

Have just used these for an intense monster fishing trip in Thailand. They worked perfectly, didn't get any groin bruises as I had before and even the fishery staff commented on how good they were.Well worth the money.

I had the chance to test this rod butt cushion on a few yellowfin tuna while fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. This fit great on a ugly stick and a mad mantis g-rod. With the large surface area prevented me from getting a bruise from having the normal rod but digging in. I have used a cheap battle belt but I prefer using this instead as I do not have to worry about it slipping out from the belt. The largest fish I landed was a 83lbs yellowfin using this item.

Good, sturdy design but seems like it's just too loose fitting on the rod butt (gimbal). It falls off - will probably end up in the water and I doubt that it floats. I suppose I can put some wraps of "shade tree" tape...3 stars is generous.

The 1.20" or 30mm inside diameter Is a good snug fit for my "Cousins" Huntington Beach saltwater offshore rod. Saves the gut while pulling in big fish for the fish-fry! For the smaller diameter rods, we just wrap duct tape around the small-grip-end for a larger, perfect, snug fit. To get that consistent, snug, cushion fit, you'll actually need a separate Scotty-end-cushion for each fishing pole/rod. Don't go fishing without 'em because safety isn't expensive..it's priceless.

Fits my medium and medium/heavy spinning rods well. Makes the battle to bring Tarpon to the boat a lot more comfortable.

I used these Halibut fishing and they worked fairly well, easier than a fishing rod belt. The only problem I found was that on some rods it has a tendency to twist crooked.
