Your cart is empty.Seachem ParaGuard is the only fish and filter safe aldehyde based (10% by weight) parasite control product available. ParaGuard contains no formaldehyde or methanol and will not alter pH. ParaGuard employs a proprietary, synergistic blend of aldehydes, malachite green, and fish protective polymers that effectively and efficiently eradicates many ectoparasites on fish (e.g. ich, etc.) and external fungal/bacterial (e.g., fin rot). It is particularly useful in receiving tanks for new fish and whenever new fish are introduced to a community tank.

I tried several other products over some years of fish keeping. This is the best for treating the water. I think it is not the fastest for getting the white spots off the fish, use an internal treatment of focus and metroplex for that, but for the water this is great. I keep some on hand now. Just in case.

This is basically water. Does nothing to heal fish. Useless as Melafix

I bought this to treat my 75 gallon after I foolishly moved a couple fish out of quarantine prematurely and infected the whole tank. This stuff saved a half dozen Severums and a Clown Knife who were in very rough shape with both fungal and parasitical infections.
