Good seeds, easy to germinate and are growing strong, can’t wait to try them!

I’ve been wanting cucamelons since i saw them on tiktok last summer, it was too late to start them from seed so I waited until this spring/summer to grow them. Patience is key but overall I’m very pleased with the results of these seeds! Almost every seed germinated but I ended up having 4 plants to make it to be planted (mostly my fault because I left seedlings in the sun too long one day). You don’t really need a lot anyway because these 4 are taking over my entire trellis and have lots on them!I’m in zone 7aMarch 14: started seeds indoors, taking them out for sun/heat every few daysMay 4: planted 4 plants in garden, on an automatic sprinkler systemJune 17: got the first batch of cucamelons!

Might be me, I planted both packs, in the Home Depot small seed starter kits. Cardboard looks like egg cartons with the potting soil. Put in greenhouse. Nothing. Maybe too hot, wrong time of year. I'm in Florida. I'm going to try again as a winter vegetable. I tried on January.

I got these May 2022. I didnt have much luck the first year i grew them. High wind, scorching sun and dry conditions were not good for this type of plant. Using those same seeds I tried again this year and they are flourishing! I have them in shade for most of the day and they get the evening direct sun. I keep soil moist at all times, and being in the shade makes that easy to keep damp. They are exploding with vines and need alot of room to climb. They take almost 2 weeks to germinate, and for the first month they don't grow much. It was discouraging, but with patience they will get established and take off. They are a beautiful vine and they have the cutest little fruits. Not much for taste, but they have a good crunch.
