This is a beautiful, very well made miniature clock. If it wasn't so heavy you could use it as a pocket watch. Miniatures are something the Japanese excel at (but made in China). Impossible to read across a room, difficult enough up close. The alarm is worthless, you have to hold the clock to your ear to hear it. They make bigger/louder versions but then you don't get the big discount, or the big charm. The back is inexplicably unfinished, not for the middle of the room. That said it looks natural on a Benjara chest and I put up with squinting to see what time it is and don't even try to wake up by it, no light either. Many of the reviews here are for a different model than shown.

I love this clock! I have 3 of them in different areas of the house. I've had various name brand clocks throughout the years, but I have to say that I'm happiest with this Seiko. It's perfect for a desk, nightstand, etc., any place you need a small clock. It keeps good time, and it only needs 1 AA battery (which is easy to change as well). Although there is a light ticking sound, it doesn't bother me. It is easy to read up close; but, because it is small, it's more difficult at a distance. It's an elegant looking piece that I am proud to display anywhere in my house.

Love it. It's petite but heavy so I'm not likely to knock it over, and its metal casing is nicely finished. So pretty. It's easy to set and it has been keeping time perfectly accurately. My only complaint is minor and one to which I'll adjust, and that is that the "hands" for the various functions are not different enough from each other to distinguish at a glance. In an early morning groggy state, I have to stop and reason out that the hand that's moving the fastest isn't likely the hour or minute -- or it had better not be if I want a full day -- and the hand that's always pointing at six is probably the alarm indicator. I haven't used the alarm so I can't say how it sounds. It's otherwise just a delightful little bedside thing and I'm glad I bought it.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the clock; I did not expect it to be so heavy and sturdy. It is a very pretty little clock, and I particularly like that it is silent and does not have an illuminated face which can be annoying if you like a dark bedroom at night. I bought it for my guest bedroom, and it is one of those rare things that is both pretty and functional. Highly recommend this clock - be aware that it is small - only about 4"-5" tall.

This is an attractive traditional alarm clock. I used it for two months before the plastic button used to set the clock, broke off when I was trying to turn off the alarm. The alarm is quite loud and I am a light sleeper. However, when we changed to daylight savings time, I was asleep and fumbled trying to turn off the alarm so as not to wake our sleeping in children in their rooms. The set, not alarm, button broke off and being plastic, and could not be re-screwed in. The clock stopped and there is no way to repair or set it to use until fall when I would have to re set it when the time changes back. I liked the looks of the clock and that it does not take up much room, but I agree with one of the reviewers, that it is very small and somewhat hard to read the time. It was fairly expensive, and not worth the price at all.

I wanted a small alarm clock for a nightstand, and I was glad to find this one. It's charming-looking brass, not plastic, and it doesn't have any of the extra features that I didn't want-no snooze bar, no radio, etc. It's also silent-no loud ticking to keep me up at night, and it doesn't take up much space on my nightstand. I'm happy with the clock, and I'm keeping it, but there are two minor flaws: 1) both the second hand and the alarm hand are heavier, darker and more noticeable than the minute hand, which makes it difficult to read the time at a quick glance; and 2) although it's easy to set the alarm, there are no precise gradations, so all alarm settings are approximate. If you need to get up at exactly 7:55, e.g., this isn't the clock for you, but if simply getting up a few minutes before 8:00 is sufficient, then this pretty little clock will make you happy.
