I have been looking for one of these for about 10 years. Keeps me from buying a completely new light meter. Have had my L-358 since 2000, so I know this will last me the rest of my career.

Clear sharp lens. Feels like it has some heft to it.It is rather large and heavy and can cause the swivel head on the meter to turn on it's own. Switching between incident and spot is additional work.Great for landscape photography. Not useful for spotmetering flash portrait photography because it won't read flash level below f8 due to the amount of light that gets lost through the device. The 5 degree viewfinder Sekonic makes can meter flash from f2.8 but then you lose the spot selectivity. An alternative would be to get the L-758 incident/spot flash meter but the trigger buttons on that model aren't so nice.

so i bought this item, kind of, for a convenience factor and also b/c i wanted more accurate readings. it works in that it will meter light as it should, but it does not fair so well in metering dark shadows. it just returns a code that states "Unable to Expose", well it flashes Eu back at me. i don't know if this is just a problem with mine, i haven't researched the issue on the web yet, but it still defeats the purpose of the adapter. so in that sense the item doesn't work.maybe i just need to mess with it more, but since getting the reading error i've pulled it of and gone back to regular reflective metering.if you have the money, just look into buying a spot meter that is specifically built for the job.

Had to laugh at the individual that thought it was a light meter and not an attachment ! I have the meter which is fantastic and the attachment which works well. What was the other guy using it to measure shadows? It is great when metering difficult faces in portrait photography. I think it must be amateur day!!

I was looking for a light meter and when I saw this picture I thought, "yes! awesome! a cheap, good-quality light meter. It's perfect!!!" so I got it. But the caption didn't match with the picture...so when I got it in the mail I opened the box to find that it wasn't the light/flash meter that I thought I was getting (I was kinda in a rush ordering it before I had to leave the house to go to class).I even looked up L-358 on the Sekonic website to double check that I had the right one my teacher was talking about. So when the photos on this item and the Sekonic site corresponded....I didn't think I was wrong. You (whoever posted the item) needs to change this. It's false advertising.I'm returning it to say the least.Sucks, because I'm a student and I really needed this like 2 weeks ago...and now I have to send it back and find another one and rush ship it. The shipping was ridiculously slow as well for such a small box (3 weeks).MORE THAN AN INCONVENIENCE.However, if I was to say anything positive through all of this; the item was carefully packaged and secure with plenty of plastic to protect it from moisture. It was in perfect condition.
