I like to listen to music on long rides, and prior to owning these I was using earplugs that kept falling out during the ride. Installing the 10S into my helmet took about an hour. My helmet is modular style so I had to use the boom mic. The sound quality playing music from Pandora on my phone is pretty good and the volume gets high enough to be heard over the wind and the sound of my exhaust. The intercom works really well and gets every bit of the advertised 1 mile (Open Terrain) range. You are able to listen to music at a reduced volume while communicating through the intercom as well. One problem I have on RARE occasions is that the intercom will just stop working for a while. We will be having a conversation, and all of a sudden one of us will stop hearing the other. It can last from a few seconds to a few minutes, and can sometime require a reboot. Connecting your cell phone via Bluetooth will allow you to make and receive phone calls and I have never had an issue with this. The Battery life is great, I did a 6 hour 433 mile trip while listening to music and had my gps going the entire time. I never got the low batter warning. 125 miles of this trip was in the rain and the 10S never had any issues with it. The big downside to this device is the controls, there are not enough buttons for the amount of options. I would have to carry a cheat sheet in order to remember all of the options and luckily they put one in the package. There are 2 buttons and one dial to control everything. Many times I would try to make a phone call using speed dial, and instead it would turn on the radio, I will sometimes try to adjust the volume while using the intercom, and the intercom will disconnect. Too many options for each button, but they had limited room and wanted it to be accessible to gloved fingers. That being said, the 10S works, and it works well. The battery life is great, it is water resistant, noise cancelling mic works great, the sound is good, and installation is not too bad. I would recommend this to anyone needing a hands free headset while riding.

Muy Fácil de instalar, practico a la hora de estar comunicado, lo único malo es que se interrumpe la señal si hay muchas curvas en el camino. por lo demás excelente.

We like to do cross-country motorcycles trips, we bought Sena's SMH5 in 2013 for Seattle to San Francisco. It was a good comm system for city and highway driving, but at 55+ mph we couldn't hear the voices over the speakers. We just bought the 10S for a Montana/Glacier trip and it is SO MUCH BETTER! The speakers are much clearer, and we both love the ability to connect earbud earplugs. We're getting perfectly clear communication at every speed. There are a lot of new features, easy connection to the cell phones, easy music playing, easy transfers between modes. This is a really improved product since 2013.BONUS: Sena support is AWESOME. I broke the boom mike on my SMH5 and couldn't find the correct replacement part anywhere. It is no longer sold by any retailers, but Sena customer service tracked down some old stock and shipped it to me. They offer truly lifetime support on great products! Happy customer.

I bought these because I am just introducing my 14 year old son to snowmobiling in the Michigan UP. I wanted to be able to talk him through the ride, and coach him as he rode behind me. These devices worked perfectly. I was able to stay connected with him though all-day rides lasting 10+ hours. They have amazing range, but when I got out of range, I knew I had gotten too far ahead of him. The devices automatically reconnect when in range. The sound was clear and adjusting the volume was easy. Even with the snowmobile at full blast, I could understand him easily. The most impressive thing is that it was -8 F when we went out on Saturday. I COULD NOT believe these devices worked in extreme conditions like that. My anxiety about introducing my son to this relatively dangerous sport was significantly reduced because I could always check in on him and alert him of conditions and other riders. His enjoyment was significantly enhanced because he could ask me questions in real time and let me know if if there was any issues with his gear or the sled. Honestly, we also spent a lot of time just joking around and probably talking more than we have talked in a while. Couldn't be happier.Only drawback: They are a chore to install. You have to be patient and be ready to take apart your helmet lining.

Packaging - excellent packaging and layout. Everything was well later out and presented. Could do with a delegate checklist to check and layout prior to installation for ease of identifying all the little bits and pieces.Installation - I watched one of Sena's online videos for the unit and didn't read the instructions. The quick guide was a good reference for use but there should be something similar for set up as the pictures were a little small. Actually putting it together was simple and once I had the cables routed a doddle. Slightly more difficult on the second helmet but nothing to do with the product! Fit feels very secure to the helmet. I see why people are concerned about the clip on the main body but it is secure just doesn't inspire huge confidence with no discernible clunk!!Use - This is were I came unstuck not reading the manual first and going straight into it!!! But after a LOT of button pressing and then admitting defeat and reading the manual it was relatively straight forward to pair up and get connected to phone and Sat Nav. I used the smart phone app to preset radio stations and that worked well but the app could do with a auto store setting!Overall - Excellent product looks and feels expensive and user friendly once I have had a good play I think the button combos will become more natural! Looking forward to using it on the road!!

Makes riding with people so different, you can have a conversation which makes it so much more of a social experience .Speakers work great, even on the highway, I can have a conversation with paired intercom and there is no wind noise coming through the speakers. Really impressed with the product. At first, the buttons are a bit hard to identify and ''handle'', but after2-3 rides it becomes a lot easier. Quality seems real good. (Can't compare with other intercom system since t is my first one)

Pros:- The 10S is easy to mount on the helmet. You can mount it in about 15 minutes.- It has a very secure clamp for the unit itself and velcro sticky pads for the mike and speakers.- The speakers sound very clear even at high speeds. There is no problem understanding what the other person is saying.- Pairing is easy with other headsets as well as with a phone.- You can talk to up to three other people simultaneously or individually (but I haven't tested this as I only have 2 units)- Once you pair your phone, you can use Google Now (or Siri, I suppose) to get directions, place calls, play music, etc. And it works great!- The unit has phone number presets, but Google Now is much easier to use.- There is a built-in FM radio with presets.- Battery life seems good. I've been using it with a single charge all this week (˜5 hours).- Range is pretty decent.Cons:- You might have to reposition the speakers a few times until you get them to a comfortable position. They can keep your ears from "unfolding" into the ear wells.- The velcro bond is stronger than the glue they used to attach the back piece of the mike and speakers. If you are not careful, the back will be ripped out of the speaker or mike.- If you have to reposition a velcro pad it will probably break. The kit has spare microphone pads, but no spare speaker pads so you might have to buy a set separately.Other:- They come with firmware 1.0, but updating to 1.1 was pretty simple (you need a Mac or PC).- The phone app is convenient for setting some preferences and looking at the documentation on the go, but it's not really necessary.
