The most impressive thing was it worked right out of the box, just put the batteries in the mic, pop on the little antennas in the back, plug in the receiver, turn the mic on, plug in the audio cable, adjust the gain a bit, and boom… instant, solid sound, haven't even read the manual.I know there are lots of other options and features relating to radio interference, multiple mic setup, and so on, but I don't know if I'll ever have to use them. It comes with a 1/2 rack mount adapter if that's your thing. This model transmits digitally so it's optimized for environments with some radio clutter.If you're a prosumer wireless mic newbie like me, be aware you're also going to need a mic head (the mesh covered "capsule" at the business end of the mic), an XLR audio cable to carry the sound out of the receiver box, and possibly some kind of audio interface or preamp to go into your computer or mixing console or wherever the sound is going. The Sennheiser 835 / 845 / 935 / 945 line of capsules are an excellent pairing but I believe you can use most any brand if you wish.
