Works fine for larger specimens. My child and i have placed, pond water, mosquitoes, and ants into the well with a cover slip and it has worked great.Biggest functional complaint is the thick slide is too thick to use the higher power objectives on my microscope. They crash into the slide. Low power is fine and has been useful.Second complaint is the price. You can get a pack of standard slides for much less but this is a sturdy slide meant for long term use IMHO. Still a little costly.

This is what I know about slides. I had ordered these about ten days ago.I decided to give a review and rating for this set. When preparing microscope slides for observation, it is important first to have all necessary materials on hand. This includes slides, cover slips, droppers or pipets and any chemicals or stains you plan to use.A cover slip or cover glass is a very thin square piece of glass (or plastic) that is placed over the water drop. Because of surface tension, the water drop alone tends to sit in a thick dome. With a cover slip in place, the drop is flattened out allowing the investigator to focus with high power very close to the specimen. The cover glass also confines the specimen to a single plane and thereby reduces the amount of focusing necessary. Finally, the cover glass protects the objective lens from immersion into the water drop.Super good product

Perfect for my needs...the concave area is nice and deep. Too many other brands are shallow and basically useless. This holds a good amount of liquid and keeps it in place.

These work very well for what I wanted them for...taking photos of small creatures (daphnia, nematodes, etc.) with my USB microscope. The concave depression is not deep, but it is sufficient. The price is right. Keep in mind that these do not include cover slips.

This is a great product. It will arrive in it's own envelope, and none of mine had any chips or damage to them. The depression is a very slight depression, but should work for most liquids in small amounts.Product is not sterile, so clean them as you would any other slides before use.

There is not much to say about these slides other than the fact that they seem to be of very good quality, came packaged well, and are exactly what they are advertised to be. Worth the price!

You can't go wrong here. I was just looking for a small quantity of concave slides for a decent price and that's what I got. They were carefully packaged and crystal clean. If anyone like me who just took up using a microscope as a hobby, these are the perfect set of slides for starters.
