I just hot to use this product after a while of buying it because I was out of state when the product arrived. To my surprise, it not user friendly, difficult to use, broken needles, and manual not exclusively explaining how to use the machine. My kind deed advice, NEVER PURCHASE.

I have had a few sergers but THIS ONE stands out the best! Why? When threading, there are 2 covers u can open both to thread all the loops easily. No need to reach around the free arm which is on the left like most sergers. A BIG PLUS!

It is so nice to find something that is just like the one it is replacing, even though it isn’t the same brand. Ok, so the one that died was 30yrs old and I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find a replacement that was as good. The only difference between the two is the placement of the cutter and the thread cutter, that’s it. No learning curve for threading even. It even comes with a soft cover which is really nice. It’s even the exact same size as my old one so it just got popped on and started working away. I will admit I am impressed at how much I got for my money, it is a really good deal for any level sewist.

Got tired of messing with my old serger so I thought I’d try this one. It sews perfectly and came already threaded. I don’t use it as much my other machines but it’s always ready when I want to serge something.

Love my serger! It’s good for the money you spend.

Clearly used when it arrived. Not a high-quality product. The front cover was already divoted by the metal tension bar at its base. The component pieces are cheaply made. The spool setup is chintzy. It is a toy compared to my vintage Pfaff, but I didn’t expect it to be amazing. I just wanted a serger to augment my traditional sewing machines for those times when a serger really is the best option. Such light duty may be the salvation of this machine as I would not expect it to hold up to everyday use. As someone who has sewed for decades on traditional machines, I didn’t expect the learning curve to a serger to be quite so steep, but it is. The instructions are reasonably complete but still difficult to follow. My efforts so far have been marginally successful. It does seem to make a serged seam, but I likely would still be trying to thread it if it had not come already threaded. I’d only recommend this to someone who has used a serger or knows someone who can help them learn to use a serger machine, and who sews only occasionally.

I'm an intermediate sewing machine user and a novice with overlock/serging. One thing I can say is that it hasn't been that difficult to get this machine up and running and I seem to have about the same level of success as I do with normal sewing machines. It's definitely not a Singer/Brother machine and some of the tolerances on the construction seem a little wider than on the brand name machines, but at the end of the day, I get what I want without having to fuss with the tensions and thread runs constantly. Make sure you keep up with cleaning and oiling as needed to keep the serger running smoothly for a long time (as you would with any sewing machine). The instructions are definitely translated and not super english, so have someone who is familiar walk you through setup or watch a youtube video if needed.

I cant believe i ever lived life before i had this machine. I absolutely love this serger! Didn't know what i was missing! I have almost quit sewing out of frustration due to constantly having to rethread my previous singer serger. I have had this Lumina point for nearly a week now and have never had to rethread it from the initial factory sealed set up. The machine runs so smoothly like butter. Combining the instruction booklet with Youtube videos they have helped me so much!Be mindful of your thread and keep piece of scrap fabric fed into the machine for easier transition. I've done some risky things just out of bad habit already and it still didnt become unthreaded. Perfect for sewing street fabrics. Get it before the price shoots up. You wont regret it. This is truly the serger i have dreamt about owning my whole 15 year of sewing career. Much better than other name brand machines. Lumina fan here! it really looks professional.
