I was not sure what to expect and even assumed that the claim of it being a servomotor would be incorrect. It is indeed a servomotor with feedback and a pretty awesome one at that. The motor is quiet, fast, and has quite a bit of torque. While I do not intend to use this motor in a sewing machine as it was originally intended, the motor comes with all manner of hardware to fit this servomotor to your machine. All of the hardware is decent, the wiring is done correctly, and everything operates exactly as described. The front of the plastic case of the servomotor drive seems "cheap," but that is a minor issue. Overall, I think it is a lot of motor for the money. I wish I had more of them for other projects.Please note: If you have any experience with programming variable frequency drives, you can use the enclosed instructions to modify the behavior of the servomotor, including its top speed, acceleration times, and other factors.

I couldn't be a seamstress, but is "seamster" even a word? Hmmm... anyhow, moot point, because my skills start and end with reattaching buttons by hand. This little puppy is about to experience life in a whole new way, because it is going to become the drive motor for my drill press. The reason I wanted this size was because it will be a direct drive head, hard-linked with the quill.Why? Because I can. Because it's fun. Because these motors are incredibly precise and have massive torque way down low. Because they run circles around the typical treadmill conversions, and way less complicated than vfd setups.

- Item is exactly as pictured and worth the price point of $95. I have been in industrial sewing machine sale as repair since 1998 and this unit is almost as good of quality as one I sell for a brand name at 165 dollars.- These new motors are very light weight and powerful this one is no exception.- Programming instructions were about as bad as all the others I have seen so no surprise.

This review is for Servo Motor Sewing Machine, Industrial Sewing Machine Servo Motor, AC110V, 750W, 1HP, Speed 200RPM to 6000RPM, Brushless Servo Motor with Pure Copper Coils, Energy Saving Mute, Instruction ManualThis is a very versatile servo motor and reasonably quiet - obviously designed and perfect for replacing an old clutch style or worn out servo style motor on a commercial sewing machine but at 750W / 1HP, at the higher end for sewing machines as well as plenty of power for many other applications. The speed control and RPM range are a game changer vs. older style motors.

This is a fairly amazing little setup -It's very specific to upgrading or repairing a sewing machine - not something that "could be used" but actually purpose designed and built - specifically for a sewing machine.The bracket and mounting are light weight but very sturdy and while the motor looks small, it claims to be 750W and performs like it probably really is about 1 HP. It is set up to offer good power even at slow speeds as well.Speed control is a servo controller - no stepping - just smooth speed control over the full range. They acceleration curve is ramped to provide decent control at low speeds to start and then quickly get to the full speed -Top speed is adjustable from the front panel at any point - default is set to a max of 4500 RPM and it adjusts in 50 RPM steps down to the lowest setting of 200.This is capable of interfacing with a needle position sensor although its not included in this kit.The motor is capable of up to 6000 RPM - and the max speed can be set to any value in an advanced (password protected) parameters menu - the seller responded very quickly when asked for the password and included additional instructions for accessing the advanced setup but for most sewing applications, you won't need to access these. Even at 6000 RPM, the motor runs very smoothly and quietly with very little vibration. There are a lot of individual parameters that can be adjusted in both the standard and advanced menus if necessary to optimize for your use.The speed control lever and linkage has adjustable tension and uses a hall effect sensor for speed control - no contact between the sensor and magnet and nothing electronic to wear out over time (like a potentiometer).The power switch is a separate module on the power cord so it can be mounted in a convenient location.Available in a day for $100 I would consider this an exceptional value -I am using it for a small precision grinder where the original motor and controller was much more expensive but this will work perfectly - higher power, more flexible controller and easily retrofit even though it isn't on a sewing machine.Well made, great value and does everything it says - very pleased with the purchase.
