I was pleased to finally replace my dripping pressure relief valve on my boiler. This 30 psi relief valve was the same specs for the replacement.Upon arrival the valve was solid brass and and is machined well. It appears to be of decent quality. The footprint of the valve matched my existing one so the changing of the valve was pretty straight forward.My main concern is that unlike the popular watts brand that I removed this new one doesn't appear to be certified by 3rd party inspector like is normally required for a safety device of this nature. Knowing that now I would not recommend purchasing this unless you can find that certification somewhere. All other manufacturers list it directly on the unit.Buyer beware of possible issues from this oversight.

Having an extra pressure relief valve on hand is like having an extra insurance policy. Typically, your furnace will not give you any warning before its pressure relief valve gives up the ghost, and it usually happens in the dead of winter when it's 10 degrees outside, leaving you without heat until it can be repaired. If the hardware store happens to be out of the size, brand, or type you need, you may be several days without heat! Not an option in the cold, snowy north where we live. We bought this pressure relief valve to have on hand for just such an emergency.In comparing it to the current model in use, it is just as heavy and sturdy and appears to be well made. The measurements were right on the money, and the threads were deep enough to make install a snap. I appreciate that this unit is made of brass, since that means it won't rust over time, and the unibody construction prevents leaks of any sort.
