We just finished a custom Tele with these pickups and I just got to play with it LIVE last night. WOW!These are clear, distinct, intelligible, and articulate, even with heavy distortion.I use the "old-school" method of riding the volume knob instead of tap dancing on boost pedals. That's where the dynamic range of these really shines. Turn down, the sound cleans up. Turn up a trifle for crunchy wholesome goodness. Time for your solo? Open 'er up and let 'er rip!Very low noise. The only pickups I've tried with less noise are Zexcoils but those lack the authority and PUNCH these have.These have four-wire connections for fancy wiring schemes, if that's your thang. I prefer simplicity, so I wired them in a standard two-way configuration with a three position switch. They have the perfect balance of highs and lows for clarity, with some muscle in the middle to drive a real amp and make solos sing.The bridge position delivers anything from sharp Tele bite, to woody brown Van Halen and Zeppelin crush.After playing every guitar and pickup throughout the last forty five years, I can say these are among my top four favorites.With any decent amp they growl, wail and WOOF. As my buddy Cliff says, "They bark like a show dog in heat!"

I had a carvin custom guitar built , and the pick up perfectly accents my melodic passages and has just the right amount of clean and grit that my style requires , it actually enhances my thoughts .So I got another set for my mockingbird .
