Perfect replacement for my 2018 Charvel DK24 bridge pickup. Replaced the super treble Full Shred. Tried this and the JB and both were excellent, but the Distortion was just IT. Classic rock, 80's hair metal. 90's grunge and nu-metal. Just a great pickup. Highly recomend.

If your looking for a great deal with sustain with no mud this is the pickup. It doesn't sound terrible like the Dimarzio super distortion. The Duncan Distortion has more highs and complex midrange.

Play Rock and/or Metal? You are done searching... this is it! Super clean and articulate when the volume is rolled down and all the way up, It is chunky, punchy and no mud, the mids are very natural sounding, tons of harmonics and soft and natural sounding highs... is like having a Hi-Fi pickup, plus monster headroom... Just get it...!

I put this in a thick alder Jackson DKMGT and it was about exactly what I expected based on forums and youtube videos. Initially the guitar sounded terrible with it, but I took out the active boost thing and wired the guitar like a les paul it cleared up (if that helps anybody). Noise is very low and should be on a 90 dollar PU. For brutal heavy rhythm playing this PU is quite satisfying. For emotive dynamic leads it's not that great, but no PU is going to do everything. It's just like people say it is. It's bright with super high output (I have to change settings on the amp when changing guitars). I would say it's a bit generic sounding. No fresh new flavors here, but no bs either.

This is a great pickup if you play aggressive music, and are looking to put a little "oomph" into a cheap guitar. The ceramic magnets in this pickup make it very hot, and very suited to high gain, aggressive styles. You can still get a decent clean if you roll off the volume a bit, but distortion is really where this pickup shines.

Excellent pickup! Great clarity and high end definition. No mid range mud. Tight low end and palm muting comes out great! Great choice. Like a JB with more clarity. Put it in my Jackson Rhoads. I play extreme metal. Very happy with it.

Well.. I just love this pickup. I have it on a Charvel So Cal and a Fender American Special HSS Strat. Sounds great on both guitars. After reading the reviews you'll have a idea of how great this pickup is for high gain distortion but what I really like is how it reacts to the volume knob of the guitar to clean a bit and gets AMAZING classic rock/blues overdrive sounds. Anyway just buy it and rock on.

I switched out the Duncan '59 Combo in the bridge on my ESP for this one to get a more aggressive "dirty" sound. I can definitely hear the difference when the gain is cranked up. This is a good choice if you don't want to do a full active pickup conversion and deal with batteries. No passive pickup is going to be as powerful as an active, but this one does a very respectable job.
