Excellent product, excellent price, excellent packaging and fast shipping. The four I ordered all looked as good as in the photo in the ad. Thanks!

Excellent product! They fit right on my Poison Spyder stinger with no hastle. They are extreme strong, and they look great. I have had them for over a year, no sign of rust. When I worked offshore, Crosbys was the only shackles we were allowed to use. I’ve seen some of them lift over 90,000 lbs (not these exact ones of course). I’m considering buying some again to replace the cheap ones that came with my rear bumper.

If you ever plan on using your shackles, these are the ones to get. I've seen other people complain that they aren't pretty, but that's easy enough to fix. I just cleaned mine up and blued them so that they look good.Remember, you can make safe shackles look good, but you can't make good looking shackles safe.

The 3/4" size at 7(T)on Working Load Limit (WLL) says these are the more expensive Crosby 209A Alloy steel as opposed to the standard Crosby 209 Carbon steel model (3/4" size, 4-3/4T WLL). Crosby is a well respected standard in the Rigging industry. (However if you don't mind spending $90 per shackle, the Skookum model 263 3/4" size has a WLL of 9T. Skookum is considered the "gold standard" of shackles)

I found these on Amazon when looking for the G209 3/4" rated at 4.5T. I thought these were a bit expensive, so I opted to call around local places. Found an industrial supply store that had these for $32 + Tax as opposed to the $39 + Shipping here.I do a lot of off-roading, and Crosby shackles are universally regarded as the best shackles money can buy. American made with top quality materials. When it comes to recovery, don't skimp, there's a reason Smittbilt's shackles are 1/3 the price - they break. I have never had to pull myself out of anything, but I have had to pull others, and I always use these with no problems. The breaking strength of this is 7 metric tonnes, which works out to about 15,500 lbs of working load limit, which puts it well above the working load of my 12,000lb winch and under everything else (ropes, straps, snatch blocks are all well above 15,500 lb). The heaviest pull I've personally done with these shackles was another fully loaded Tacoma + an offroad trailer for a full load of about 8,000lbs, and had no problems. These shackles also have visible 45 degree markers. This is a good thing as you shouldn't ever side-load shackles as they break and cause catastrophic failures. The 7T working load limit (WLL) is for a straight pull, and as you get further away from the center line of the shackle, the lower your WLL goes. Past 45 degrees you get into catastrophic failure range, so having that immediate reference is a huge boon for safety. As a side note: KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING BEFORE ATTEMPTING A RECOVERY! There are plenty of videos of people being seriously injured and/or killed due to not understanding recovery safety. Do your research, know your safety areas and equipment. As another reviewer noted, these shackles aren't nice and smooth like the picture. However, I don't care since I don't leave the shackles attached to my truck. I want these things to pull and not break and cause a catastrophic failure that could damage vehicles or injure someone. With the weight rating these are at, they will be far above anything you will ever require in the off-road world. If you're doing heavier recovery, pay attention to weight ratings.

I ordered some of these because I know that they are quite strong. The picture shows a very smoothed and perfectly plated Shackle. What you will receive is a very rough and unevenly plated (as Galvanizing is prone to do) Shackle. If your only concern is strength, then you can't go wrong with these units. However, if you want them to look decent hanging on the front and back of your off-road vehicle, then look elsewhere.

I was looking for a quality shackle for recovery and winching operations. This was a little more money than some of the "imported" stuff, but definately worth it. This is not one of those items I would skimp on. I would buy this again without hesitation.
