I agree with another reviewer; if you have an older model, this elbow won't click in. I also used a zip tie. Shame on Shark for claiming it works on a NV502; well, it does..but not without a zip tie. And its not a cheap part.

We have 3 of these Shark Navigator vacuums and have been pretty pleased with them. The weak link is the hose which gets easily torn or will rip after a few years just from general use. Once this happens the vacuum suction can be significantly reduced. On one of ours we had another issue and we removed this piece in order to clean it. Somehow it got misplaced and we never did find it - hence the need to buy this elbow. I searched around for one and there don’t seem to be a lot of these available so I was happy to find it.It arrived quickly and slipped right in as intended. No issues.I can’t speak to its durability but based on what it does there shouldn’t be any issues with that.

This elbow only works on newer Shark models. I spoke to a real rep from Shark and was told this item had a production modification. There is a number printed on a blade of the plug. Mine was from 2013. She did not divulge the date of the change. I was able to repair my old one after learning this. My old buddy, duct tape.

I was ready to put my Shark Vacuum on the curb. Two years ago I broke the piece where the hose is attached to the vacuum. I ve tried taping and gluing to attach. I was done with it when I was searching onAmazon for something unrelated and saw in the menu an option for Shark parts. Voilà. The part looked identical. The Shark has been saved for $20.
