Excellent repair kit. No instructions included, but the repair is pretty obvious when the pedal is disassembled. And, of course, there are multiple online videos that show the repair process. My repair was very simple with the hardest part being getting the glue residue off the pedal when the old sensor was removed; any adhesive remover should do the job. Getting the old black rubber piece out required a little wriggling, and it was shocking how inflexible the old rubber piece was compared to the new one. That of course, was the major problem causing the pedal's failure. After installing the new parts, the pedal works as new. One hint: if you're replacing the sensor, unscrew the output jack first, making it easier to remove the old sensor, and to install the ribbon cable into the jack's socket before reassembling everything.

I bought my Roland Vdrums "used" and from day-one I was not happy with the hi-hat pedal response. I have many Yamaha digital kits and they were better(?). I tried tweaking the settings for sensitivity to no real satisfaction and also tried cutting relief cuts into the rubber block but nothing felt right.THIS kit did the trick! I also replaced the contact resistive strip even though the original MAY have been OK. The extra cost was worth eliminating that variable.I highly recommend this kit to restore your pedal!

After receiving this, I installed it in my Roland hi-hat pedal with relative ease. The disappointing part comes when the control effectiveness began to suffer only one week later. The pedal had been used approximately 8 hours when the sheet sensor began to lose its range. Hi-hat closure is hit and miss. Quality control is poor.
