This is really a bright white light. My old boat light was a dim yellow and barely lit up the boat. This light is visible for a long distance and provides just the right amount of light for the interior of my boat.

LED's have come a long way and this item is no exception. I do recommend buying a set of clips with it though.

Previous owner snapped the stern light, so it was not operational. This was a direct fit for our 2 pin base. And lower profile is still visible 360 around the boat. Just a bit higher then the window frame.Led puts out a good amount of light which aids in seeing ski deck and engine bay at night. Plus meets water safety regulations.1989 Rinker Captiva 206

I replaced an older all-around light with a standard bulb, with this new LED light. The difference is very evident. The new light is high and bright. Very satisfied.

Works great on my current 2 prong insert stand. LED is great for low battery current draw. Let’s you leave on without killing your battery.

This light is much brighter than the old one. It fits in the original hole and shows no sign of wear after only three months on the salt water.

Purchased two of the 36in All-Round Stern LED lights, with the 2 Shoreline Marine Stern Light bases (2-prongs) Zamak. One of the stern lights and bases came in with issue. Luckily I had two to test with.Pros:Aluminum rod is quite sturdy. Wish I got the 48in instead of 36in, but that was my mistake, believing something was different at the base between the 36in and 48in. Both came with a plastic fastener, which does not affect the connection directly to the 2-prongs base. When the stern light connects to the Shoreline 2-prongs base, it's as solid as you can get it. Stern light remained in place, with absolutely no play whatsoever. There's sufficient amount of gap around the plastic portion of the base and the stern light body to allow water intrusion, but very little significant since the base has two drainage port at the bottom.LED that came with the stern light is very low draw. it rated at 90mA, but the multimeter indicated it was 105mA. 15mA different is not a big deal. The light is phenomenal for a low draw. Compared to may trailer's 1156 lamp, the LED white light outshine the trailer's lamp. The plastic cap dissipate the brightness by 45% compared without the plastic on. However, that is more that sufficient brightness to allow your light to be seen at least 500ft away.Cons:I haven't seen anyone reported this in yet, BUT, if you don't properly turn your LED to the full locking location for the 2 internal poles' positions, the LED will not light up. Same goes for the receiving recesses of the light pole at the bottom. When the base's male's prong is not solidly connected to the female ports at the bottom, there will no be any power delivered to the LED. Simply take a small flat ended stick and gently pry the male's split pole in the base further apart, to make solid contact with the female ports on the light pole. No instruction nor explanation in dealing with this.I've contacted both the Shoreline Marine contact numbers, emails, and including the Big Game Distribution, but I got nothing for 3 solid weeks after various phone calls for tech support, and even a quick possible part replacement. If you purchase Shoreline items on Amazon, return it to Amazon. Don't even bother contacting Shoreline. Product is good, customer service, I wish I can provide an F- rating.6/15/2016:Included are two photos of LED navigation lights vs the Shoreline Stern light. In comparison, the LED 90mA stern light is about 150 to 200 lumens less than the 6 LEDs marine side marker, drawing 140mA. With the stern lights in total darkness, it can still be visible under the intense 1.15A (per strip) LED navigation green-red lights.
