While I mostly use a furminator-type grooming tool and a slicker brush, I find I sometimes need an undercoat rake for my German Shepherd -- especially around his neck and the base of his tail.The Paw Brothers short-tooth teflon coated undercoat rake is excellent for that. It's also very useful to pull the hair out of my slicker brush. I've got both the long-tooth and short-tooth undercoat rakes, and both work fine, but I find that the short-tooth version is adequate for almost all situations.

This is exactly what I was looking for to brush my long haired cat. The length of the teeth is just right, Not too long or short, and they are spaced perfectly apart. It is amazing how much hair you can brush out with this brush and my cat enjoys being brushed as well.
