While trying on this jacket it quickly becomes obvious that SIMMS puts a lot of thought into the design of their products. As a petite person, most jackets & coats have arms that hang over my hands. This gets frustrating when I'm trying to do something with my hands. This jacket has velcro straps at the wrist so that when I tighten them, the jacket won't hang over my hands. The waist cinches in so that if I'm wearing a jacket underneath there is plenty of room. But if I'm only wearing the raincoat I can cinch the waist & avoid looking so boxy. Yes at the end of the day I am still a girl & want to look cute. The hood is pretty awesome! It cinches in in several places so that it sits snug & will keep any wind & rain out. The neck zips up high. I have short hair & I usually have to wear the hood to keep my neck from getting cold. Because it zips up higher, it covers the back of my neck & I can choose to wear the attached hood or another hat or none at all if I want to. The pockets have plenty of room & all zip so that nothing falls out. Maybe it's because I'm shorter, but the jacket also hangs low enough to cover my butt & hopefully will keep everything nice & dry. The color is a little brighter than I expected but I'm good with that. All in all, these may not seem like necessary details. I'm of the opinion that it's the little details that count. And Simms has put a lot of work into designing the thoughtful details of this jacket. Ones that ensure the wearer is comfortable no matter what the weather conditions may be.

The workmanship is a little disappointing. There are score marks or sewing needle tracks on a few places on the jacket. The fit is true to size. I usually wear large but I got an XL so I could wear layers under and it’s plenty roomy. I like the color also but just disappointed a bit in the craftsmanship of the jacket.
