The assortment of colors is great for projects that you only need a small bit of a certain color. The thread holders work well to keep the thread from coming off the spool when not in use. The thread nets work nicely if you have your thread on a thread stand instead of on your machine, but the holders work better when back in the box. So far this thread seems to be similar quality thread to more expensive brands.

I absolutely love Simthread and have been ordering their items since I started machine embroidering. This is a great kits with tons of colors. It's nicely packaged in a branded box for easy storage. It comes with a Spool Color Chart, two pieces of 8"x8" tearaway stabilizer, the thread, the spool huggers, a baggie with black and white bobbin thread and a few empty bobbins.I love the vibrant colors of Simthread's spools and they work great in my Brother machine. I use them all the time! These aren't huge spools or anything but they'll last a while and you get such a variety of colors that you can do almost any project. The spool huggers are a favorite of mine and they work awesome at keeping your spools together and organized! Great quality, work great in my machine and a favorite of mine for machine embroidery!

The selection of colors is very nice and the threads are well packed. The threadholders easily clamp onto the thread spools and prevent unravelling of the spools. The threadholders come in a variety of colors, too.The thread was a bit disappointing. I did my usual thread strength test by spooling off about 2' of the thread and pulling on it. This thread stretched a bit then snapped with what I'd consider was gentle pulling with a fairly light or weak grip. Regular embroidery thread normally takes a lot more effort to snap. I then threaded up my Bernina 830 sewing / embroidery machine and stitched a border around a piece of cotton with stabilizer on its back using a new needle. The thread broke after about 3" and then again on the second side after the machine got up to max speed. I tried a large decorative flower stitch and the thread not only managed to break, but also managed to get all nested up in my bobbin area. After clearing the mess, I stitched a few more flowers, experiencing some thread breaks here and there.I tried a second color and was slightly more successful in that the thread didn't break until I'd rounded the second corner in the square. It also didn't break for the flowers test.My Bernina 830 is known for its excellent stitching and normally the back is as pretty as the front. You can see from the photos that the back side shows some issues, including loops of the front thread pulling to the back. This is probably due to the stretchiness of the thread allowing extra thread to be left behind.Since the second color stitched much better than the first, I'd recommend that you test every color on scrap fabric with both fast straight stitches and random decorative stitches before committing it to an embroidery project that could be ruined by too many thread breaks.

I am very happy with how strong this thread is while also having such great colors to choose from. I do not offer make large projects so this is perfect for me because it is a good amount of every color you could think of. Also easy to thread into my machine

Great assortment of Simthread colors. I use Simthread polyester thread with my Baby Lock Solaris and never have breaks or lint. Great colors to compliment other sets as fill ins or a wonderful beginner set of threads. Since Simthread doesn't using a locking spool to catch thread ends, the added thread holders are a nice way to keep spools tidy and avoid thread tangles. The holders grip the spools and it's easy to find the thread end when removed. A nice set to gift as well and ordering for yourself.
