Skunk2 Racing has worked tirelessly to develop the most complete high performance intake manifold package possible for the NA and NB Mazda Miata!

Welcome the Skunk2 Racing Ultra Street Intake Manifold. Years of R&D have culminated in a multi-piece cast aluminum intake manifold that offers advantages that only a modular design could allow! Building upon the performance legacy of our Pro Series Intake Manifold, as well as using the latest in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software; Skunk2 Racing has created a three-piece modular design that allows for easy disassembly, porting, and plenum volume changes through the use of a removable plenum. In addition to CFD testing, the Ultra Street Intake Manifold has undergone extensive in-house dyno and on-car testing which has led to a design that is less restrictive, yielding both torque and power gains well over any other offering!

Skunk2 Racing Ultra Street Intake Manifolds are cast-aluminum, manufactured from high-grade 356 aluminum alloy for strength and lightweight. Each manifold is CNC-machined for a precise fit, and individually inspected for quality assurance. The Ultra Series Street manifold features a generous 68mm throttle body opening and is constructed with thick walls at entry, minimizing concerns of breakthrough when port matching. Intense planning and design went into the plenum (1.8L plenum volume) to distribute even airflow to all four cylinders under dynamic load conditions. Placement and design of the velocity stacks were rigorously flow tested to ensure maximum delivery of air to the cylinder. Large velocity stack raised bell mouth entries lead to 10.00” long intake runners with smooth transitions allowing the Ultra Street Intake Manifold to outflow all other production intake manifolds.

Skunk2 Racing Ultra Street Intake Manifolds are designed to be used in modified naturally aspirated applications as well as mild turbo/supercharged setups.

Very handsome casting, and politely available to also the earlier pattern at the gasket seal. The compares to is a huge hard-to-get subject with the object compares to in shorter runners; truth is the difference is expecting the cold intake from without belt-drive deck pump. Some 'women' might argue any shorter intake than the generous 10 inch is better to criticize for vulnerable to hack in water with methanol injection manifold performance. So goes the claim the Big 10 inch is safety-minded! The shorter is likely to give up output improvements without needing 4K rpm to exceed stock natural aspiration, while at above 4K the Big 10 inch definitely competes and is mass and texture assertive to dig into methanol injection cooling preparation as safety minded. I would prefer to have the confidence of the argument that two drivers are one horse gang could compete by shorter runners even natural, to be clear about the potential of injection to over cool pistons if the manifold cooling mist is not regulated into a mature soaking about work function neurons in the v.v.t. and timing calculations. For me, the safety of the generous 10inch runners is worth the difference in 3.2K to 4K because I can count on the consistency and well-behaved ram to offer the surface huge gains also safely with some effort to spray nozzle a cc or even two at the back of the filter media, if I already defend the EGT, and the two-spark model-specific ignition.

Purchased this along with their throttle body for my Miata and I am quiet impressed with the build quality and attention to detail in this intake manifold. Highly recommend for any boosted/ upgraded Miatas.

It *does not* fit with the regular NA starter. The runner for cylinder #4 fouls on the starter solenoid. With the NB starter, which is *just enough* smaller, it fits fine. A PIA to install but otherwise fine.It wouldn't be an issue if they just said ahead of time that it doesn't fit with the stock starter...but it doesn't. And they don't. Many days of anger.

From a performance standpoint, this intake is great. When taking the car to the tuner, we were able to achieve my power goals in 2 dyno runs. Starting at 251whp, we were able to bring it up to 266whp. We stopped there due to clutch torque limits. My tuner told me we could easily tune the engine to 400hp, but the drivetrain won't survive the power gain.As for the mounting bracket, I had an issue develop where the bracket would flex when I would press on the accelerator. This would cause the throttle cable to slip out from the bracket and the accelerator turned into a wet noodle. I had this happen 3x in total. Each time, the engine would stay at idle speed. I had to pull over, and slip the throttle cable back into place. After the 3rd time I just fabricated a new bracket. The old bracket is incompatible with the intake. (at least for the 2000 engine).Just recognize this is something you'll need to address.Otherwise, install was a bit of a bear. Getting to some of the nuts felt like mission impossible. If I had to do it over again, I would install this intake on the head while the head was out of the car.I did need to buy some fittings and plugs for the intake, which was also annoying.Could the package be better, yes. Will you be disappointed with the performance, no.Also, I didn't waste my time with the paired throttle body. It's not really necessary and will only provide marginal power gains. If you're tuning for 300hp and below, I wouldn't waste the money.

Intake manifold came as described… but only the manifold. Did not come with the gasket, fittings, plaque, etc. I’m not sure if this was intentional or not, but keep an open mind if you happen to make this purchase.
