About this item

  • Two Way Visual Feedback Interface: The large LCD display of the Skyport HS features two-way control via a Visual Feedback Interface that lets you see the exact power of every light in your setup right on the transmitter. Users can control each light's power level and modeling lamp setting directly from the Skyport transmitter or on the strobe itself, which instantly shows the updated power settings.
  • " Hi-Sync Technology: Go beyond the X-Sync of your camera. Photographers can simply switch to Hi-Sync mode and access sync speeds up to 1/8000s to freeze motion, overpower the sun, darken backgrounds, or use a wider aperture."
  • TTL and Manual Lock: When paired with the ELB 500 TTL users can enjoy beautiful exposures right from the first shot thanks to TTL and if desired, quickly switch to manual to take full control of the unit without losing exposure settings.
  • Impressive Wireless Range: The Skyport Transmitter Pro has 20 channels and 4 groups and a wireless range of 656' outdoors and 196' indoors.
  • Compatibility: Three previous generations of flash units including the EL- Skyport Transceiver RX module for Style RX, Digital RX, and Ranger RX systems and the integrated EL-Skyport modules for the BRX, D-Lite RX, ELC Pro HD, and ELB series.

After 10 years and over 400,000 Skyport units sold, Elinchrom decided to not only raise the bar but also leap way over it with the launch of the EL-Skyport Transmitter Plus HS, (or Skyport HS for short). The most advanced Skyport ever, it gives Elinchrom users the ability to control and visualize power settings across all their lights directly from the Skyport transmitter plus the ability to shoot at speeds up to 1/8000s in Hi-Sync mode.

The price of these hurts the wallet, but its worth it. I use this with 2 Rotolight Aeos 2 and a Rotolight Anova 2 pro. All 3 sync perfectly, and I like being able to control them all from the remote.

Excellent price as was listed as "used but as new" - as Brand New more like. Works a treat.

Recomendable.

This is exactly what I have been waiting for. It allows you to shoot with any shutter speed with the studio strobes. Works fine after some adjustment. The only problem was that there was no complete manual, just a very quick guide. So, I have to figure out how to set it up with my D-Lite RX strobes. Most importantly, one has to change the ODS from 3 sec to around 1 sec (for Canon). Then it works fine.

Truly an amazing piece of equipment! The control it gives you from your camera speeds up everything I do on a shoot! I might buy a second one as a backup because it now I do not think I ever want to shoot without it.

I bought one (Canon version) and used it with my 5D II and a couple of Elinchrom Ranager RX Speed AS. On My 5D II, I can use it with the shutter speed to somewhere around 1/1600 second, without very obvious banding (I did adjust the timing to match with the shutter speed I was shooting). Although it provides us more room to use flash with much higher than the x-sync speed, but still get subtle dark banding. The banding is not gone entirely. One thing to note also that the Plus HS unit doesn't work at all with any other brand unlike the other older skyport transmitter model, which you can trigger flash with any camera brand, at least in manual mode. This Plus HS will NOT do that. This is disappointed to me as I am also using Leica and Sony camera for my work. I hope they can fix this in firmware update to, at least, make it works with manual triggering mode. The one bummer I can find is that it is quirky trying to find the flash unit as it keeps scanning and found nothing repeatedly (It seems like forever to me). In my experience, this could take 15+ iterations before it finally can find ones. Guess what? Any time you change the settings, you have to re-scan again!I gave it 4 stars due to the scanning problems. The overall experience with it is good if it works. It would not be fair to give this a lower score due to inability to trigger flash with other camera brands but Canon (at least in Manual mode, I don't need the HS all the time!) since this is for Canon camera. However, PLEASE, Elinchrom, fix this so I can at least use the basic triggering mode with my Leica (yes Leica is my main platform).Phruksaphop

Being a happy Elinchrom owner now I am happier. The newly release EL-Skyport Plus HS is a great addition to the Elinchrom lighting system. I've enjoy the original Skyport for so many years. They are very light and small and reliable. Now with this Plus HS I can do high synch with my current owned strobes (ELC Pro 500 HD). The device is very solid made. The construction is very similar to Canon's ST-E3-RT. The user interface is simple(You basically don't need to read user's manual). It can control a lots of earlier models but some devices do not have enough information displayed on the display panel.

I LOVE THESE NEW SKYPORT TRIGGERS... I have been trying out different triggers over the last 4 years because of how unreliable the old skyport trigger was, I almost switched brands completely and went with another company, until elinchrom came out with the trigger. Full control of my BRX 500 lights, the older versions, and I can see what my lights are doing when I am not right next to them.
