While researching percussion instruments, I came across the SlapStick, developed in 2010 by Andy Graham after messing with a metal band on a packing crate. After watching a number of the Slaparoo videos, I decided to try it out. Since I haven't used an electronic instrument since the 1970's, I also picked up an amp: a NUX Mighty Plug MP-2.As expected, I had no problem getting a lot of incredible sounds out of the SlapStick. Even as a complete novice, I had fun noodling around with the thing for hours.That said, I had trouble consistently getting the sounds that I wanted out of it. I almost have the octaves down, but not quite. This is one of the many practice, practice, practice type instruments. However, this has been fun to practice with.Highly recommended.
