The Barrel Bolt Door Latch is a sturdy and easy-to-use latch that works great for my project. It installs quickly, and the sliding bolt moves smoothly and feels very secure which was necessary for my needs. The metal feels solid, but the included screws aren’t the best, so you might want to use your own. Overall, it’s a simple, reliable latch that gets the job done!

Use these for making a lockable trap door into my crawlspace. The bolts themselves are quite good. I did not use the locking part as they went into drilled holes in the floor joists. They are coated stainless so should never rust, and are strong enough that I am sure nobody is just going to be able to push in thru the trapdoor to get into my house as the tools needed for this means they could just do that thru the subfloor.My only complaint is the hardware included, it is soft and started stripping pretty easy with a screwgun into predrilled holes. I backed them out and instead opted for different mounting screws.

Way better than I expected. Heavy duty, good quality materials. Each latch comes with 6 screws.Highly recommend.
