I like the promise of this sliding door security bar but am concerned about the long term durability. When I assembled the first rod I screwed the rods together and without much force the threads stripped out. The rods still go together and work just fine when put in place as the rods cannot come apart if the door is forced. I may just epoxy the two parts together as the will just be used for this one door. Beyond that the bar is very adjustable to a large range of door sizes and when in place the sliding door is tight and will not move.

Very good security rods. I am very insecure with only latches on sliding doors so I purchased two of these in black for the extra security. They function very well and they fit my patio doors perfectly. I really like the fact that you can adjust the bars to fit your patio doors and your windows. Great value for your money.
