The pieces are junk, the ends do not go on properly it’s cheaply made. When I started the process of returning my only option to drop off return was to the UPS store, I didn’t read the instructions before returning and you have to package the box to ship back with the return label from Amazon, I didn’t have the original box with me so I ended up paying $2.16 for a return box. Not expensive but usually Amazon returns are free. Kohls amazon return wasn’t an option unfortunately. Save yourself the trouble don’t waste your time or money on this product.

First off, I didn't buy this as a security device. I live on the second floor and I've always been concerned my air conditioner - which is quite big and very heavy - might one day fall out of the window and come crashing down on someone walking below. I had always resorted to a wooden stake that I'd cut to size. I saw this and realized it had a lot of advantages over a piece of wood. I ordered this item and I no longer worry about that A/C falling out the window. This is very secure. I can understand why it is marketed as a security device! Kudos to the manufacturer. You might want to start advertising this is a safe and sturdy brace to better secure a hefty A/C. It's doing a great job and there is NO WAY that A/C is going to come ajar with this item in place.

I purchased this due to my bedroom window lock not working. There were no instructions and getting this thing to lock into place was stressful. It’s very particular. Once it was in it was good but the placement was a pain!
