This lock fits my Milgard D handle for our sliding patio door perfectly. Very easy to install too. NOTE: the door needs to be fully closed before the lever will move and engage the lock.

It's working as intended, no complaints. Will most likely come back here to purchase again if fate decides that we need to replace the latch again.

Fit well. Worked well. Wish Milgard made better latches. They wear out every few years. Great to find a replacement part.

My latch snapped off on my old door when I locked it with a little too much gusto. Luckily, I was able to flip the latch with a screwdriver and avoided having to remove the door. When I took the old latch out, I saw one of the the forks at the end had broken and was inside, which I removed with needle nose pliers. I had read reviews that said there would be room for the extended one and it was $5 cheaper, so I ordered it. There was not room and it was too long to reassemble the handle. I might have been able to cut off the prongs and cut it down to size, but I took my lumps and bought the standard length one instead. It barely fit and I had to push hard on the handle to get the screws back in. It operates fine, but with some friction. I could always take it out and shorten it a bit on my grinder. I've decide those mysterious prongs are for doors with exterior key locks. For us interior latch only door people, they can probably be modified or removed. I'm just thankful these parts are still available!

The original latch broke on our back patio door, and we left it without a lock for over a year just using a stick in the tracks to "lock it". Eventually, we got fed up with this lazy idea and decided to do something about it. After spending much time reading online and trying different products (because we had no idea what we needed, and what would work), we finally came across this, and it was our last hope. It work, and it worked flawlessly! Thanks for saving us hundreds of dollars. 5/5

This is the inexpensive dongle that saved me $350. We have a Milgard old sliding patio door that is over 25 years old and the glass has been replaced by a precious owner with non-Milgard, so I didn't have the Milgard # left to ask them for a replacement. I spent a day in Lowes, Home Depot, and a Milgard authorized seller and no one could help me --- they all wanted that sales # I didn't have. A repair place told me they'd replace the entire thing lock and handle for $350. Highly frustrating! I tried super-gluing it back together, but it snapped. Even J.B. Weld epoxy snapped off quickly. I thought I'd be paying a lot for a new lock, but then I saw this dongle online -- technically it's the "lock nib" according to the Milgard site that has a video showing you how to replace one, but not how to order one. This item was inexpensive, so I took a chance it would fit. When it arrived I installed it and it fit perfectly! Works better than ever. My only quibble is that it only comes in white and not black, but I can just paint it myself.
