Please note the following:* Has a good weight to it* Has slip guards on the bottom* Propeller is detachable* Has deep groves for food* I completely recommend this bowlI really like this slow eating bowl. It makes my American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff) slow down. Unfortunately, I found out my dog does not have the brain power to work around the moving plastic propeller. He picked up the bowl by the propeller and took it to my step-mother crying for help. My step-mother ended up holding the bowl for him because he does not like the propeller.For this mornings feeding, I detached the propeller and it worked great for my little boy. It still slows him down on his eating, and the puzzle area where the food rests kept him engaged.Because of the deep groves on the bowl, you will need to clean it maybe with a bottle brush, but that is okay.I completely recommend this slow eating bowl for a dog that is too fast eating.

We have 4 small dogs. One of them eats very fast and is usually done well before the others. We have tried several different slow feeders for him and he masters them quickly. He usually eats about 1/2 cup of dehydrated food with about 1/4 cup of water. This bowl is plenty big for that and I like how when I pour the water in it, the food doesn't move around. The first time he used it, he was the last one finished. He has used it 7 times now and is the 2nd or third one finished. He has to push around the little propeller to get to the food underneath and he spins around the bowl trying to get to all of it. I keep playing around with the little propeller to adjust the tension and making sure I drop most of the food under it and not in the outer ring. I like that the propeller comes off and can be cleaned in the dishwasher. The bowl is lightweight so it does move around some when he is eating. I like to think that this also slows him down some. I would say that the price is a little steep and therefore I dropped it by one star. Overall, I love it and feel that it is a winner.

This bowl is definitely a puzzle for my dog but she can get every last drop. I may get rid of the little propeller thing in the future because I feel like she will just get mad and rip it out LOL! The food wells are deep and she really has to work for it which I like. She chokes trying to scarf her food down so quickly. I can just stick it in the dishwasher. I feel like it would be a pain in the butt to hand wash it. The propeller is removable.
