Used with Samson Q2U and boom arm.Fits tight on the mic barrel not leaving a lot of play to absorb vibration, so direct contact with the tripod/boom may be too much to dampen. If you install the shock mount lower on the mic barrel, you may get a little more absorption.Popfilter is held onto the arm with a lock-nut. So when that arm threading was stripped out-of-the-box, that filter is useless.Otherwise, the filter setup is very unintrusive and compact compared to wonky flex-arms, but also more delicate. A goose-neck will probably survive a clumsy arm-flail, but this filter definitely will notDoes not come with a 3/8” to 5/8” adapter, and you'll need one for a boom arm installation. Can't beat that functionality for 8 bucks

I bought this for one purpose... To remove the pop filter and add it to my, much better, arm and setup. It was incredibly easy and now there isn't some bendy arm in the way of my arm or mic, 100% recommended if that is what you are going to do with it, it was SUPER easy!

I am using this for my shure beta58a. I don't know if it really makes a difference of shock mounting it since the mic itself has a pretty robust shockmount built into it. I don't like using windscreens because I mean, have you ever accidently sniffed one? Next best thing is getting a pop filter. I used one of those big ones but that was overkill and looked goofy. This works the same although it's not perfectly centered. It looks and feels a million times better though. If you are debating on getting a screw on pop filter or this, get this hands down. I don't know what to say about the legs because I don't use them. If you are worried that the mount won't be able to hold, I have been using it for over a month and I constantly move my mic arm out of the way. It's holding up pretty well. I am trying this Amazon review thing so let me know if this review was helpful or if it sucked! I want to help others buy the right thing in this flooded Amazon Market. Pun not intended.

Won't eliminate vibrations fully but does a muuuch better job compared to the simple clip-in mic holder as shown on the screenshot of a test recording. Keep in mind I'm purposely tapping on the mic's scissor arm. With general use and movement you'll likely hear nothing or far less than shown here but even then it's a big improvement. It is holding my XM8500 dynamic mic very snuggly & without problem though I imagine it would provide better anti-vibration if the mic had more room between it and the housing. At this price it's a fair compromise. The pop filter works very well and is more transparent than the windscreen I was using and much smaller than the one I own for my condenser mic so I'm loving! It's slightly off center but that doesn't get in the way of it's function so I'm happy.Word of caution! This shockmount doesn't come with a 3/8" to 5/8" Screw Adapter so you'll need to already own one if you plan to use it with a scissor arm stand (like the one I own) or normal mic stand.Overall I consider it a worthwhile purchase at an affordable price.

Good build quality, this. Holds my mic in place. Using a thread adapter, I also use it with a clamp to hold my phone for shooting videos. The mesh is as good as any I've seen. Yes, I recommend it.

Combo purchase this with a U-Phoria UM2, a XM8500, and a boom desk mount stand then you've got a great, cheap mic setup that most people wouldn't be able to tell a difference from an AT-2020 for less than that would cost by itself. The reason I've made it 4/5 stars instead of 5 is the metal bar that holds the pop filter is a little rough on the end, and if you're not careful you might cut yourself on it. You can cover it pretty easily with a little tape or kitchen plastic wrap if it's a worry for you.
