I have some experience in creating videos and shooting photos with a digital camera. Until now, I’ve struggled with using cheap, lightweight tripods that slip and wobble. After some research, I found the SmallRig AD-80 FreeBlazer Heavy-Duty Tripod, and I couldn’t be happier! The super sturdy build and overall quality of this tripod are excellent. It features three quick adjustments (not six) for raising and lowering, smooth panning, and an easy-to-use quick release plate. If you’ve been using flimsy, lightweight tripods, it's worth spending a bit more for this one. Today was a good day :)

The SmallRig AD-80 FreeBlazer tripod is a great pick for video shoots. It extends to 71” and the 75mm bowl adapter gives you plenty of flexibility for different angles. The one-step height adjustment is super handy, and it can handle up to 33lbs, so it’s solid enough for heavy cameras and camcorders. The build is tough and feels reliable, though it is a bit heavy to lug around for long periods. If you don’t mind the extra weight, it’s a sturdy choice that won’t let you down.Pros:• Sturdy with a 71” height and quick height adjustment• 75mm bowl adapter for versatile angles• Can handle up to 33lbs• Well-built and durableCons:• A bit heavy, which can be cumbersome to carryOverall, if you need a solid tripod that’s built to last and handle heavy gear, the SmallRig AD-80 FreeBlazer is a solid choice. I would just recommend keeping your setup under 20 pounds. Highly recommend!I hope you found this review useful!

Super upgrade from what I had before. Hard to judge not knowing what a better Tripod was worth, because I had nothing of this quality before to compare it to. I wanted the easier legs. It's a bit heavier than I expected, but the reviews I read were saying how Lite it is, so what do I know? I love the quick release plate, the legs, the Fluid Head is fine for my use, and I love the Ball Mount. I took it to the River yesterday and took video of the Geese and Boaters and had no problems quickly leveling it on the embankment of uneven dirt. The more I'll use it the better I'll operate it I'm sure. I'm a musician, so learning to move a Fluid Head smoothly is like learning to play an Instrument. And you can't beat the price.

Bought this to replace my crappy Neewer tripod that has a terrible head. This one works very well and the price is right. My camera rig is a fully loaded DSLR pkg - camera, monitor, etc - and this tripod and head are awesome. Highly recommend.

Surprised at the quality for the price. My only other "SmallRig" accessory is a small camera clamp that mounts to a camera with a standard 1/4"20 screw and a swivel ball arrangement. I was so impressed with the "Clamp Mount Quality" that I choose "SmallRig" for a tripod for my Panasonic HC-X1.Very solid quality tripod with a nice case.Fluid Head works well.

Literally the best tri-pod I have ever owned. I’m just 3 clicks I can level it at any height. That’s efficient! Not to mention, heavy duty! I modified my fluid head with Neweer as they have a better fluid system in my opinion.

The leg latches don't hold tight and the legs will sink in. This happened on a shoot of mine. The camera on the tripod was a simple Canon R7. The tripod fell and broke my camera. This was on level ground, with no breeze and no one bumped into it. I no longer recommend this tripod.

This SmallRig tripod is great ! I do multiple camera video shoots and recently purchased an additional camera that I needed a tripod for. Did a lot of searching of many manufacturers and decided on the Small rig. It's well built and very light weight and sturdy. Leg extension is smooth and easy to extend and retract. The lever action latches on the legs are easy to operate and provide a positive grip. The storage zipper case also well made with room for the pan head . I own two other brand tripods I have had for a few years now Seeing how nice this one is I'm considering selling them and replacing with 2 more of these these Small Rig tripods. If you are in the market for a great tripod, I would recommend this SmallRig AD-80 FreeBlaze tripod.Very impressive....

Much heavier than expected, not a piece of gear I would carry around outdoors, but perfect for studio video and still photography. Super stable.
