When I opened the box and pulled the lens out I was taken aback by it's heft. This is one serious piece of glass. I own several lights in the 60-100W range. They are extremely handy in a variety of shoots, either as small portable key lights, fill lights, rim lights or as practicals. While this functions mostly a spot light it is the gobo capability that really drew me to this. It comes with a series of gobo's (10) that are easily inserted and adjusted to create an effect or background. I am looking to have a custom gobo created for product branding and this combined with a RC60/100 provides a perfect source for a bright and clear logo (backdrop). It focuses the light so well that it essentially increases the amount of light projected from the Smallrig RC fixtures. The focus ring is as smooth as other high end lenses I own for my mirrorless cameras.I have another snoot that holds gobos and that one is no way near the quality of this lens, if you are looking to add functionality to your Smallrig RC fixture, this is worthy of your consideration.
