This is my first meter, and it's actually been very easy for me to understand and use. Calibration didn't take long at all, and my readings have all be accurate. The meter is well made and once I got the hang of using it, it is really impressively useful.

I am new to using a DO meter and my goal is to compare some different methos of adding O2 to my hydroponic nutrient solutions such as airstones, venturi, and waterfall splash. This appears to be a good entry level starter for my needs. The YINMIK app I could not get to connect to my meter. I confirmed that the bluetooth was on and restarted the program multiple times and checked permissions but it never connected. The benefit to the app I think would be the logging of repeated tests which I will just do myself so the app not working is not a terrible thing - just an annoying waste of my time to try to debug the issues. Note that I did not use the QR code in the book to locate and install the app. I used the Google Play Store search for "YINMIK APP" and used the one located that way. I have no idea if the other differs but I prefer to only install apps that I know are somewhat more secure from the store. You will want to hang onto the instructions booklet (and keep it dry) for calibrating. I will be storing the whole set inside with all of the liquids bottle upright to safeguard against leakage. There are numerous instructional videos on YouTube for the use of pen-type DO meters of varying brand names and this is likely how I will instruct myself. The unit uses four stacked button cells for power. (LR44 x 4) Polarity is noted in the holder on top of the unit. The screw on cap has an o-ring seal. The plug in probe's cable is around 8 feet long.I will update my review after I get my first tests completed and determine the baseline DO for my 100 gallon tank of hydroponic nutrients and will add more information if I see any issues with this meter.

Excellent meter for dissolved oxygen. Works for aquarists, laboratories, field work. A necessary addition for any aquatic fish store or hatchery. Excellent accuracy, protects your aquatic creatures, perfect for monitoring DO during a power outage or measuring streams, creeks and ponds. Price is very reasonable for smaller labs and operations. Easy to use.

Once I mastered the operation of this, it gave accurate results. I've used it on our aquarium, outdoor pond, and even the lake. I gave it only 4 stars because it was hard for me to understand the directions and operate it at first.

Regardless of calibration, this unit does not display any figure on any volume of water including nanobubble enriched water and calibration solution. Buy a higher end brand name unit.

I manage a large aquaculture system (raising fish) and accurately monitoring dissolved oxygen (DO) levels is absolutely critical for the health of the fish. Manual test kits can be unreliable and time-consuming for frequent checks. This YINMIK Smart Dissolved Oxygen Meter looked like a professional tool for the job. This is a digital meter specifically designed for measuring dissolved oxygen and temperature in water. It comes with a probe on a long cable (about 9.84ft), which is essential for getting readings in tanks, ponds, or different depths. It gives you a precise digital readout of the DO concentration (usually in mg/L or percentage saturation) and the water temperature.Using a digital DO meter allows for much more frequent and accurate monitoring compared to chemical test kits. This helps ensure the water is properly aerated and the fish aren't stressed due to low oxygen. It's portable thanks to its design, making it easy to take readings at different points in the system or even in the field for environmental monitoring or wastewater treatment applications. It needs proper calibration (calibration solutions are usually required and sometimes sold separately) to ensure accuracy, but once calibrated, it provides reliable data. If you're involved in aquaculture, pond management, or any application where precise monitoring of dissolved oxygen in water is necessary, a dedicated meter like this is an indispensable tool. It's a key piece of equipment for maintaining healthy aquatic environments.

To start off with, it's a bit hard to tell from the description, but no, this does not come with a carry case (unfortunately). But, at the very least, the box it comes in has a nice thick plastic compartmentizer (or whatever you call it) which keeps all the bits in their proper places. So, you can keep it stored in the box, as long as it lasts anyway, and it'll work ok.As far as the functionality goes, it works great. The display lights up and is very easy to read. It comes with extra membranes (6x), which should last for a good, long while. Readings take only a second or two, and you're done. It does have Bluetooth for data logging, but honestly, I didn't get into that because I really don't NEED the data logging function. But know that if you do need to keep a running log, it does have that capability.Aside from not coming with a proper hard case or something, my only other complaint is the fact it uses 4x (ugh) button cell batteries, which I do believe are LR44 / 357. I sure would prefer it to be rechargeable. It is what it is, I suppose. When it's time to replace the batteries, I recommend getting the 357's instead of the LR44's, as the LR44's are alkaline and the 357 version is silver oxide, which provides a longer life and more stable voltage, which is good to have in a precision test instrument. It might be a good idea to just order a 4x pack when you order this meter, so you have spares on hand, just a suggestion. In all, I found it to be extremely easy to use, and when calibrated properly (solution is included), extremely accurate. My gripes are few, and at the end of the day it does the job asked of it quite well and with no complaints. 4 stars.
