So glad I saw these. I spend a lot of time hiking in the desert and constantly worry about coming across a rattlesnake and not seeing it in time. These will give me piece of mind. I am very confident that these would prevent any injury in the event of a snake strike...as long as the thing strikes at the area of my legs these cover, which is likely.I like that they are light weight. The straps are fully adjustable so you can have a custom fit. I like the little hook that grabs your shoelace to keep that part in place.Good flexibility with the removable knee cover. I will be leaving it attached. Just a little more protection when I kneel down on rocks.

I bought the Snake Gaiters for Hunting (Army Green) to replace a worn-out pair, but unfortunately, these were a bad choice. I spend a lot of time outdoors—hiking, fishing, walking—where snakes can be a concern, so I needed reliable protection. Here’s why these gaiters didn't work for me:Connectors Don't Work: The clips and straps don’t connect properly, they are not made to connect together. I tried using bungee cords to make them work, but it didn’t help.Poor Zipper Quality: The zipper is poorly made and single-stitched. Frequent use will likely wear it out quickly.Unstable Lace Clip: The clip that attaches to your shoelaces doesn't stay in place, making it unreliable.Uncomfortable Knee Pads: The knee area isn't comfortable. I had to remove the knee pads to walk more easily. I am only 5'8 and it just did not fit me right.Too Warm: To keep them secure and in place, you have to tighten them, which makes them quite warm.Pictures:Front View: Shows the overall appearance in army green.Back View: Displays the layout and single stitching, along with the mesh liner.Straps and Clips: The clips don’t connect as they should. The male inserts are incompatible with the female receivers.Clip Quality: Out of 6 plastic clips, 4 were defective and wouldn’t connect properly.Shoe Lace Clip: The clip for securing the gaiters to your shoes loosens over time because it doesn’t have a way to tighten it securely to your boot laces.Knee Zipper: The zipper for the removable knee cover is fragile due to single stitching.Carrying Bag: The bag is too tight and likely won’t last long.I would not recommend these gaiters based on these issues.

My legs are thick but not as thic as you can consider out of this world. Even in the loosest setting, the gaiter snap on top barely closed, leaving a very constrained feeling. And I put them on my bare legs. Considering I am planning to wear them over a thick fabric cargo pants, I highly doubt that I will be able to use them. A big disappointment.

The buckle straps should be longer to accommodate heaver material underneath and bigger legs . The material seems good and they have protected me from thorns but, I haven't tested against a snake and wont go looking to test out. I feel these should do the trick though and are pretty comfortable.

Design of the product could be more fitting.

I do not have anything to compare with, but wearing these leg guards does not feel comfortable. Adding a layer of cushion on the inside might help. Our lower legs are curvy, but these leg guards are too straight and not flexible enough to wrap around our legs comfortably. These lower leg guards are not ergonomically fitting enough for me, so I cannot recommend them.

I don’t think these are top of the line but they are sufficient (but not amazing) for my needs. I have a property that is now a thick bush with snakes, no-see-ums and whatever else is in that tall grass. These strap-ons allow me to safely cut the grass and clear away the thorny, nettle-y shrubs. I used to come home with all sorts of mosquito bites on my ankles but these prevent insects from flying up my pants.

Easy to put on and the fit is great thanks to the adjustable straps. These leg guards work nicely, especially for thorny landscapes and in my case, working with semi-feral cats from time to time. These do nicely in defending my skin from teeth and nails. Very nice!
