This roof rake is a solid tool for clearing off snow without having to risk getting on the roof. It works well for the most part, though I think it could be a bit more durable. That said, it still does the job effectively and keeps me safe from having to climb up. Definitely a great addition for snowy winters and would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, practical solution for snow removal.

The package is quite heavy but the materials overall just feel very cheap and not sturdy. I understand that this tool is meant to cut blocks of snow and have it slide right off but the metal or aluminum frame doesn't have enough support so it's very Wiggly and flimsy. The pole for pushing and pulling is also quite Wiggly and it's not super stable. It seemingly gets the job done but if it was more sturdy than it would definitely be more efficient overall. I tend to notice that using this tool it can slide off track because there's just not enough support to make it go fully straight. It's my first time using a tool like this and it does work well for slanted roofs in a residential or commercial space. But I just wish that the built was of higher quality and more durable. It feels like it won't last one winter.

You haven't had fun until you've tried removing snow off a slanted roof, while working from the top down. That's why I wanted to try this product from Lifxize as I can now stand on terra firma while removing snow.Unfortunately we don't have much snow right now, so this review is going to cover first impressions and assembly, versus actual field use. Like I typically do, I'll break this review down into separate items.(Instructions)It's becoming increasingly common not to include written instructions with a product. I say this because not everyone has access to the internet to watch a video. And while you don't need an engineering degree to assemble this product, an instruction sheet would certainly help.(Hardware)All of the necessary hardware is included with this product, including a small (disposable) wrench and a hex head (Allen) wrench. I would discard the small disposable wrench and grab yourself a 5/16 or 8 mm socket as it's much quicker.(Nut & bolts)All of the nuts are lock nuts, no need to apply thread lock or spring washers. The bolts should be a few millimetres longer as they don't fill the nut all the way like they should. See photo.(Wheels)In the video they show you that it's necessary for you to install the wheels yourself, my wheels came pre-installed. Some cheaper rakes don't have wheels, just flat plastic plates. I prefer wheels myself, one thing you want to avoid is hooking the corner of a shingle and pulling it up.(Snap springs)I've never been a big fan of snap springs for assembling handle sections, I much prefer to screw them together as it provides a more secure connection and it's easier when your hands are cold. Having said that I have to admit that the handle sections actually lock up pretty well on this rake.(Hole for handle sticker)Unless I'm missing something I don't know what this sticker is for. The only section that had an extra hole in it is the THIRD section from the handle and that hole is for the bungee cord.(Bungee cord)If the bungee cord becomes separated from the chute, just take pliers and crimp the end over.(Golf bag)To keep everything in one place, I put it into an old golf bag. It's not pretty, but it works.Although I haven't actually used it yet, I believe it to be a solid design that just needs some longer bolts and written instructions. Anytime you can remove snow without actually going on the roof is a good thing.

We did not get the usual snow dump this winter, so this rake has only seen light duty, and only on two occasions. It is easy to assemble, and quick to dismantle the segments that form the handle, and fit it back into storage. This makes it much faster to remove snow from the roof than the pulling method, saves time and especially a lot of effort – much appreciated, especially in the cold. When fully extended, there is quite a bit of flexing in the handle and maneuvering it to the roof for first placement is the tedious part. But after, it only requires moving sideways for the next row, the flexing is not as bothering. Looks well made, capable of handling much more work than it has seen this winter.
