I'd give it 5, but I do not see it ever using advertised 96 W.The max power it's consuming 40 W. I was hoping for faster heating based on 96 W, however heating time is average for mid power soldering irons.

The Soldering Iron Kit is exceptional! With its precise temperature control ranging from 212°F to 842°F and the USB soldering pen's OLED display, it’s perfect for any home repair or DIY project. The auto-sleep feature and T65-K solder tip make it both convenient and reliable.

5 STARS only because it did exactly what its supposed to do. You choose a temp for the project, add some flex, and get to work. You do need a usb-s power supply that can give up to 100 watts in the 20v, and than less and less for the following: 15v, 9v, and 5v for the lower temp selections. But other than that, get a quality usb-s cord that's long enough for your reach from that power supply and you will be able to get a lot of work done.Good buy, recommended.

At first, I thought this was a cordless soldering iron. I jumped at that conclusion based on the advertising photos, seeing a separate include USB cable I thought was used for charging. Initially I was disappointed, but this portable charging iron has become quite useful for me. I live in a small place and don't always have all my tools easily accessible when I need to do a particular repair. Electronics repair is not a common task of mine and I have all my soldering and electronic tools packed away. I usually have to plan out a time to do the task so I can dig out my tools from storage. With this compact size soldering kit, it has made it a lot more convenient to access a soldering iron for small jobs, because I can just throw this into my basic tools' drawer. This kit comes in a nice compact case and all the basic accessories are kept together in it. I really like some of the extra features of this soldering iron, some I would not expect on a portable tool. I like that it has programable temperature settings. You can set temperature to only what you need, and not any hotter. It has an auto sleep if the iron becomes idle from use. These are great safety features usually only on full sized desk setups. While it be great that this would be cordless iron, heated devices eat up a lot of electricity, and inserting a battery into this pen would dramatically affect its ergonomics, as well as its convenience in weight.

If your input voltage is low, you will be disappointed. If you use the wrong USB-C cable, you'll be disappointed. If you have a 20v USB-C PD3.0 charger and an e-Marker USB-C cable that supports 100W, you'll be happy!Lightweight and portable, and it comes with its own case. The screw-on cover allows you to put everything away even when the tip may still be hot. The itsy bitsy teeny weeny sponge is cute but really for very small jobs. Use this for light field work, not for the bench.

Reviewing Momssy soldering Iron Kit T65-K tip, PD 65W 96W Portable Soldering Iron:Update 1/13/2025: Momssy reached out to me to replace the soldering iron and said the tip of the coaxial power connector should be positive. They also said that there are PD2 type of USBC power modules which can do higher than 5v and that is what they intended this iron to be used with. The voltage setting on this iron is meant to control those type of power supplies. I am for now going to use a 19v computer power supply I have already to power it and consider getting a PD2 or better USBC device controllable power supply in the future.Customer support were really great to work with and read and understood every comment I made and had good suggestions to fix the issues I was having.I did some testing running this iron with different power supplies:19V - Took 10 seconds @ 2.8Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.5Amps15V - Took 19 seconds @ 2.2Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.5Amps12V - Took 37 seconds @ 1.8Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.8Amps9V - Took 80 seconds @ 1.3Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.9Amps5V - Took 3 minutes @ 0.8Vmps to reach 400F and then 2 more minutes it only made it to 428F maxMy conclusion is that you can not use this at 5V. I think it is pretty good at 12+ volts. It heats up very fast at 19v, so that is what I will be using. My Past Review:So I first tried this with high power 5V USB-C Power block. It took over 15 minutes to heat up and not to a level that I could really solder with....That is useless. Then I Dug up and old PC power supply at 19V and that worked great. Hot instantly. Then for this review I thought I would try some other voltages. Well, on my next test I tried 12v, guess I got the polarity wrong and burnt up the soldering iron instantly. Why would there not be polarity protection on something like this? So now I have nothing.Even though they say portable on this, just understand that you will need to plug this into a power source as there is no battery in this. And you will need something higher than 5v. I did not get to test how high, but 19v works. Make sure you get polarity right or you will burn this up instantly.I do like the tip on this and the weight/feel in the hand. If you could find a very long and flexible cord to hook to a 19v power supply with correct polarity, this might be a good option.

This isnt bad, but it also isnt the best. It does what I need it to do, but I am not sure how well it will do in a more demanding environment. It could be made a little sturdier.
