I am an electronics enthusiast and often do soldering practice in my workshop. One of my daughters, who is 12 years old, always likes to watch me soldering these kits in the workshop. So, I plan to buy a kit for her to learn. I found this walkie-talkie kit in the Yidab store where I usually make purchases. Of course, they also have other kits, but I chose this walkie-talkie kit because this project is challenging enough and will take several hours to complete, yet it isn't so difficult that it requires rework or causes frustration. When I opened the kit, I found that the shell was placed in a separate space and packed in a sealed bag, while the other electronic components were in their respective sealed bags. This is great as it can prevent the shell from being scratched and avoid the loss of electronic components. However, there were no instructions attached. But by scanning the QR code, I found their PDF instruction manual. The quality of the PDF manual is really high. For such a kit, the English instruction manual is excellent and very easy to understand. There is also a bill of materials that lists the names and quantities of the items, as well as the circuit diagram. The instruction manual even uses appropriate engineering terms.First, I explained each component and briefly outlined how each component worked. Then I taught my daughter how to solder and soldered two resistors of the components to show her how to do it and explained it to her. After that, I let her solder the remaining resistors and capacitors by herself. To my surprise, by observing the PDF instruction manual, she was able to accurately find the position of each component and solder them. She even successfully soldered the transistors and other components. She soldered these components correctly on her own without me telling her how to do it. Since this was her first time soldering, she did a great job and didn't encounter any problems, which amazed me a lot. As an electronics enthusiast, I've seen many college students struggling when soldering circuit boards that are less difficult. Many of them even messed up the circuit boards and needed to replace them with new ones. After finishing about half of the kit, my daughter wanted to take a break, so I completed the remaining part of the kit, and it was quite easy for me to finish it.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this kit. Firstly, it taught my 12-year-old daughter how to solder and enabled her to reach a fairly good level of proficiency on her first try at such a young age. I believe she was surprised by this. Now, she has discovered another very useful skill that she can use in the future. After the walkie-talkie was completed, I could have a conversation with my daughter within a range of 20 meters. She told me that she could hear my voice clearly. I really like using it as a teaching tool, and the whole assembly process itself is great fun. Although we completed it in one go, I strongly recommend finishing half of the assembly first, taking a break, and then completing the other half. I'm extremely satisfied with this product and the teaching/learning opportunities it has provided.

The parts that appear to be an led display and buttons are all fake. It doesn't even come with stickers to make it appear like that. It is a simple build, but what you see is different from what you get.
