Perfect fit on my Sony a7 III. I’m not a frequent battery swapper, so I don’t mind having to loosen the grip extension to access the battery hatch. The grip provides a meaningful, noticeable amount of additional comfort and support, and so even though the price is high, I’m glad I have this.

seriously. a HUNDRED and thirty bucks for this?! subtract a hundred bucks and it's worth it. this couldn't be more than 5 bucks to make in large numbers...

I used my A7r iii for 9 months without this grip and now that I have it, i can't believe how much better the camera feels, especially when using longer heavier lenses. It's a true game changer. Buy it now, thank me later. It's very well built very solid. Yes, it's still overpriced. Doesn't matter, buy it anyway. I have large hands and now my little finger has a firm grip on the body when before i always felt like it could slip away. I can put my manfrotto tripod bracket on without a problem, but as others mentioned, you need to buy a longer screw for that to work. Given that you can charge these great cameras via USB-C without taking the battery out, it's not a big deal to have the grip in the way on most days.

Yes, it's expensive but it's extremely well made. it's easy to get on and off the camera and it changes the ergonomics of the camera and makes it much more comfortable to use. highly recommended.

I also have the vertical grip and I much prefer this- it is small, light, but fits my hands hugely better than nothing. Before this, my pinkie would sit underneath the camera body - no more! Now it feels more like a Nikon or Canon body but doesn’t add too much size or weight. It’s no problem to swap batteries - a quarter turn, pop, swap, and another quarter turn to done. Well worth the expense.

The extension works well and does a great job of balancing the frame with some the larger lenses like the Planar FE 1.4/50 ZA. The grip material is identical to the camera body and secures to frame with a spring loaded D-ring screw that snaps flat. I have tested battery switches and you do not need to fully remove the grip. You can give just a quick turn of the mount screw and it will loosen the grip enough that it slides out of the way but does not fully come off. I am not sure if Sony planned that or if it is just design luck. It does add a step but it is not horrible for the comfort I get. Biggest con for my use is the camera speed sling I use mounts to the same place on the camera so I have had to come up with a work around. It is not cheap either but very well made. Would have been 5 stars if Sony had included a Male/Female mount screw solution.

Eh, bought this as I liked the extra grip but no way to mount to a tripod when on. It's cool but worth maybe $49. The price is a tad high for what we get.
