Got this a while ago, was waiting on a vacuum seal pump so I could get the full experience. It works great for us, this is out first Sous Vide heater/stirrer and It's worked great for us. I don't have teeth and meat has to be really tender and this had made steak an option for me again. I highly recommend people try sous vide cooked food.

Although this is my 2nd Sous Vide machine, I haven't really cooked in my other one that much. Normally, my chef (ish) son actually bought me the Sous Vide Supreme and made all the meals in it. I saw this one which gives me more options for larger size pieces of meat than the other one and I figured I would use in our mountain house when we are there for the weekend. This unit was extremely easy to operate and program. After educating myself online for how to cook from frozen and that you can actually use a store vacuumed pack from from the store to freezer to the sous vide and I decided to cook a Chuck Roast. I put it in for 12 hours - I extended the time another 2 and then took it out - the water maintained the temperature after the time was achieved but, the roast was really just warm - and when I cut into it, I thought it actually was not quite done - so needless to say I had to pop it into the over and after about 45 minutes it was perfect. I am sure it was all my fault. I should have had it at a higher temperature and left it in longer. I Think it takes a bit to get use to cooking with this, but I feel more comfortable with it now and I have to try it out with a not frozen roast and see how that works out. Definitely love the option of choosing your own vessel to cook with.

This is overall a great product. It was my first time using a Sous Vide device and I absolutely love the end result. The product is larger than I expected, so ensure you have space for storage and a tub large enough to use it. The instructions are clear but short. They state not to let it touch the bottom, most likely due to plastic tubs being used. I used mine with an instapot metal pot (barely fit, I do not recommend doing this) but although it touched the bottom, I had no issues using it. There is also a super simple recipe book which dumbs everything down a lot to give you a simple method to cook with it. If you want to go more into the details, search online for more specific temps and times. The product itself is super simple to use. Set a temp and set a time, that is it! You may want to hold down the temp button for 10 seconds to get it to switch to fahrenheit but after figuring that out it was a breeze. The build quality of everything is super nice, and it is very quiet when using. For those new to Sous Vide, something to understand is that time is flexible when cooking with it. There is a minimum time to achieve desired "doneness" and as long as you hit that, then time after that won't do much more. I cooked 2 steaks, and to achieve medium rare finish I set it to 130 F and left in for 1 hour minimum. I ended up taking longer to cook other sides for the meal so kept the meat going at that temp for almost 2.5 hours. Still, perfectly done after a quick seer! That is the benefit of the Sous Vide. A true set-it-and-forget it type device that gives you flexibility on when you want to finish your meat. Using the heated water, the meat reaches a desired internal temp and cooks, but since the water never increases beyond the set temp, the state of the meat once it reaches that temp will not change either, at least not immediately. This gives you flexibility on your timeframe for when to finish it. Don't leave it in there overnight, or for 5+ hours, but you can easily leave it for 3 to 4 if needed without issue.Really an awesome device, just be sure to buy a large enough container to use it in!

This is my first time using a dedicated device for sous vide and it is nice. Before I had just put vacuum-sealed meat in a cooler with boiling water and tried to make sure it was cooked. Now I can just push the button and let this thing work. It seems to do all the things I need it to do. I'm sure it is capable of more than I have tried but so far I have no complaints.

This thing definitely takes some getting used to. The instructions provide some helpful guidelines but I needed to look up articles and videos online to really understand and start getting the hang of this. This is a pretty large device, but it overall doesn’t take up much space in my kitchen when you consider all the things it does.I tried my first few tests on veggies and found that it took a LOT longer than the recipe book stated. I figured out that it was because the temperature on the device and the actual water temp were off by a few degrees (the display temp was always lower than actual). You may want to test out your water and adjust the temp up or down. I feel that this might not be as much of a swing if I use a better insulated receptacle, so I’m looking into better options for those. On that note, this does NOT come with a bin/bowl/pot to submerge it in - you will have to provide your own.I actually honestly prefer my steaks in the sous vide. They come out juicier. Plus I get the added benefit of cooking it IN the marinade.

Just trying Sous Vide and got this. It was fairly simple to set up, following the enclosed instructions. You do need to provide your own pan though. The temperature can be set up to read in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. It heats up quickly and the display is nice and clear and the buttons are straightforward. It works flawlessly - I've followed the recipes in the enclosed pamphlet and they have turned out to be super juicy - no more dried out chicken breasts. I'm playing around with all sorts of different recipes I've found on the internet and so far, they've all turned out to be delicious. It is easy to clean up, as theetal collar comes off and you can wash that by hand or in the dishwasher. I've used a toothbrush to clean the heating element and it really doesn't get dirty. I am super happy that I found about this, as I was getting tired of rubbery overcooked chicken.
