This is my first sous vide machine and I have always been intrigued by the cooking process. It works quite well, heating quickly and updating the temperature accurately. This was my only peeve as it provides temperature in Celcius only so I dropped one star in my rating. If it can be changed to Fahrenheit, I haven't yet figured it out LOL.I cooked some steaks wth it then gave them a quick sear on the charcoal grill to add a little smoke and more flavor. It was impressive. The steaks were super tender and full of flavor. Chicken and veggies came next with equally impressive results. I then used it to tenderize some curied goat and the result was superb!I haven't tried the app yet but I can see how that will add another level of convenience.I'll keep using my new gadget. It's a new world of cooking to explore and, so far, I like what it's done!

At about half the price of name brands, this sous vide machine is a hidden gem. It's easy to use. I didn’t even need the manual. With just three basic buttons (temperature, time, and start), it keeps things simple. No smartphone or app required, which I actually prefer.Since it was my first time using this machine, I had some doubts about its temperature accuracy as it is a critical factor when sous vide cooking, especially for reverse-seared steak. To my surprise, the readings were spot-on, matching my reliable infrared thermometer within +/- 0.5C.The heating element is also impressive. It took only a couple minutes to bring cold water around 40c up to 54.4c (130F), and then I could kick back and relax. As the end result?... A perfectly cooked steak with a crispy, seared crust.One small drawback: the unit only displays temperatures in celsius. If you're used to fahrenheit, you'll need to do a quick conversion before starting.With all things considered, this machine works well above its weight and makes sous vide cooking both accessible and enjoyable.

I've had a few Sous Vide devices over the years, and I have learned that it's super important to get one that can actually go to a high temp, this one ranges from 77 to 198. This upper end is important because a lot of folks recommend 190 degrees for heat extracting herbs for tinctures. There is an accompanying app which helps you figure out the time and temperature for many commonly sous vide as well as controls the device. Ironically, it does not display temperature in Fahrenheit (even though they state it in the specs). Other than that, it works flawlessly, it heats quickly, and holds its temperature very well and accurately. It's a good solid sous vide.

I got it mainly to easily cook vacuum packed salmon and halibut. It's easy to use. It's a less messy way to cook salmon if you don't like to have to cook the tradiional way of grilling or baking salmon whit can get messy.

This sous vide machine is like a whole another way of cooking. When you have vacuum sealed foods like veggies or meat, this little machine makes life so much easier. I'm a techie guy so I like devices like this where you can control them from your smartphone, but the good news for those who are not techies, you don't have to use the smart app to use this device. The onboard controls give you everything you need to cook your food properly. In fact, it's very simple and easy to use by itself. I just like the smart app because I can be sitting on the couch watching TV and keep an eye on how the food is doing.I was amazed just how fast it brings the water to a boil. We had some vacuum packed steaks and this little device did a fantastic job of bringing them to a perfect stage of medium rare which is the temperature I chose. Then I just quickly seared the steak in a pan real quick to get that reverse sear taste. As far as vacuum packed veggies, once this sous vide cooker tells you they're done, you just simply cut the bag open and they come out hot and steamy.I would definitely say this is great to have around when you need to cook food quickly.
