Needed for the kids bikes and my wifes. Fit well and locks so it won’t slip off.

It is a necessity for the bike rack I purchased. It works well and is easy to install and remove. I'm pleased with it. I just used it to haul an 80 pound step through e-bike from Tulsa to NW Arkansas and it worked great.

Nous avons deux vélos électriques à barres basses alors que le rack à vélo de notre auto est organisé en vue de tenir la barre haute. Donc ces items nous permettent de transporter nos vélos de manière sécuritaire et ne pas avoir à changer notre rack!

This bar adapter is heavier and sturdier than I thought it would be. I do like the locking hangers; it works well; I was intrigued by the spring/cable controlled telescoping arm. I plan to use this to transport bicycles and use it to hold bikes on the repair stand so none of the cables are squeezed in the clamp. If need I will update.Update 11/30/17I have used this adapter with my repair stand and it's easier on and off the stand w/o clamping any of the cables. After positioning it to balance the bike it's easier to put up the bike and take it down. No more adjusting placement of bike(s) and i can adjust brake and shift cables easily.

As advertised but isn't quite as rugged as the previous one I bought at a local dealer.

Purchased this to go with a bike rack I purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods. That same store wanted 3 1/2 times the money for basically the same adaptor.Mtn Bike-With most mountain bikes having sloped top tubes, I recommend this set up to anyone who wants their bike to stay very secure on any bike rack on the back of your car/suv.Road Bike- Protect your frame from getting scratched and use this adaptor. Many bike racks can scratch your top tube and seat tube.An added bonus here is the fact that this adaptor helps lock the stem in place(which in turn keeps the fron wheel from turning into another bike or your car) which is very helpful for your bike.Seeing that this is 75% off from most retail stores, this is a must purchase for any family with mulitiple bikes!Very sturdy locking tabs on both ends, and shows no signs of failing. This is also self adjusting to fit practically any size bike, whether mtn bike, road bike, etc.

I purchased a new Trek Fuel 8 and needed an adaptor because the location of the rear shock interfered with my bike carrier. I was in a hurry to buy so I purchased a Lund from the bike shop. I am a mechanical engineer and immediately saw several design flaws which could have allowed the bike to come loose. The next day I went to another bike shop where I found a Thule adaptor. Again, design flaws that could result in release, only this thing actually opened with a little force (whoa!). After reviewing this Sparehand on Amazon I purchased it and was very pleased. The design of the hooks opens outward and not up or down and not at the center of the hook radius but near the neck of the adaptor instead. As a result, the weight of the bike rests on the hook radius which is solid steel and should keep it from falling if it somehow opens by accident. The button releases are actually recessed into the frame of the adaptor and not standing out, so that your bike carrier straps cannot accidentally engage and allow the hook to open. You can tell there was more thought behind this design than the two other adaptors I purchased. Be mindful of the maximum expandable length and hook dimensions others have commented about as that could be an issue for some bikes. I do like the retractable feature on this item, it makes it easy to handle when taking on an off the bike. Overall a sturdy product with a good design. I liked it so much I purchased a second one for another bike and returned the two originals to the bike shops.... As a word of caution, this is not a sub for your bike frame. Whenever you use any of these adaptors you should always secure the frame to your carrier with additional straps. I would recommend this to anyone.

This product does exactly what it is supposed to. It is well built and easy to use. It works very well with 2 women's bikes that we have that have very large down tubes. Bikes that were previously difficult to mount on a bike rack can now be mounted in just a few minutes. The jaw release / closure mechanism works easily and closes securely. Take 5 seconds to attaché the "Sparehand Bike Frame Adaptor" and then proceed to mount bike on your bike rack with the same method you would use to mount a man's bike.I was a little hesitant on the price, but now I am happy to have made the purchase. I will probably buy a second one for another bike. One note of caution. Not that I had a problem, but it would be wise to make sure both the seat (and seat post) and the handlebars (and handlebar post) are tightened securely. The weight of the bike suspends from these two points when the bike is mounted to a bike rack using the "Sparehand Bike Frame Adaptor."

After two times trying to transport my new step through style bike without an adapter, I knew I had to get some sort of adapter. Due to local road conditions most of my riding is at parks - and I need to get the bike there somehow. 20+ minutes fighting to attach the bike to the car was not going to work.I picked this adapter due to the great reviews on Amazon. All the reviews are correct. This item is easy to use (only takes a few seconds to attach), sturdy, and does the job well. I can now just hang the bike on the bike rack the way the rack was designed to be used. I am so SO glad I got this. Worth every penny I paid for it (which was less than some of the other options).
