Casing material could be better but overall gets the job done. Good for practice.

I've been wanting some 30-06 snap-caps for some of my old rifles so I can start teaching the kids when they are old enough, and snagged these when they showed up as available. They fit and feed perfectly in my old P-17 Enfield (not so much the P-14 in .303 because that's not 30-06. Paying attention to which rifle and ammo you grab is always important, but I wanted to see if these snap caps could also serve as a dummy round for .303- close, but not quite).My1903A3 didn't care for these. The Garands loved them as singles or when staggered in the clip. Fed perfectly and ejected like lightning (PING!).They are a good deal considering I don't have to figure out reloading an empty shell and worry about getting things mixed up- these are obviously snap caps. The little rubber primer pads should last me forever, and if they don't, there are plenty of spares and a little tool in the case. Now I can teach the kids some interactive history and hands on safety lessons before taking them out for real. I recommend.

Alright, I recently picked up a set of these Special Snap Caps Realistic Training Dummy Rounds, and I've been putting them to use for dry fire practice. Here are my thoughts:* First Impression: Right out of the package, these snap caps feel surprisingly substantial. The weight is definitely close to that of live rounds, which is a nice touch for realistic training. They look and feel like actual ammunition, which adds to the immersion of dry fire drills.* Pros: The realistic weight is a huge plus for practicing magazine changes and malfunction drills. It really helps to simulate the feel of a loaded firearm. They cycle through my magazines and chamber smoothly without any issues. I also appreciate that they're reusable, making them a cost-effective way to practice safe firearm handling and trigger control. Knowing I'm using dedicated dummy rounds gives me extra peace of mind during dry fire sessions.* Cons: While they look realistic, the "snap" sound upon the hammer falling isn't always as pronounced as with some other snap caps I've used. It's not a deal-breaker, but a more distinct sound would provide better feedback. Also, after repeated use, I've noticed some minor wear marks on the "bullet" part of the snap cap, although they still function perfectly.* Overall Thoughts: These Special Snap Caps are a valuable tool for safe and realistic dry fire practice. The close-to-real weight and feel are excellent for training magazine changes, malfunction clearing, and trigger control.* Suggestions for Improvement: Enhancing the "snap" sound would provide better auditory feedback. Perhaps using a more durable material for the "bullet" portion to minimize wear over extended use.* Recommendation: Yes, I would definitely recommend these Special Snap Caps for anyone serious about safe firearm training. The realistic weight and feel significantly enhance the dry fire practice experience. While the snap sound could be improved, they are a reliable and reusable training aid.

These 9mm dummy rounds cycle well and have nice, thick cushions for your firing pin. They're made of mild steel, with bright plastic caps for easy identification. They also come with 20 replacement pads for when the rubber primers wear out. They are a little light for 9mm rounds, coming in at about 8 grams, whereas I measured a 115 grain fmj round at about 12 grams, but that doesn't seem to affect their performance. They cycled just fine and the dimples on the primers from dry firing didn't seem to damage them too much at all. Finally, they come in a reusable plastic box with plenty of padding inside. Very nice.I haven't had any problems with them yet, but if any arise, I'll post an update. Otherwise, I would say go for it.NOTE: I TRIED POSTING A REVIEW OF THE 22LR DUMMY ROUNDS FROM THE SAME MANUFACTURER, AND IT REDIRECTED ME TO EDIT THIS REVIEW. AS I BELIEVE WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT PRODUCT IS VERY IMPORTANT, I WILL POST THAT REVIEW BELOW.The 22LR version from this manufacturer is no bueno. First, the primer pads are very thin around the rim, and as the rounds are made of mild steel, there is a risk of damaging your firing pin, which is already a no-go.Second, as i was cycling the rounds, one of them got jammed in the mag. I mean REALLY jammed, not just stovepiping or something. It was so jammed that I had to drop the mag and use a punch to get it out, and it still took a few minutes. I even considered taking out the follower just to get it out. It didn't look like it was jammed on first glance, but upon closer inspection, it was actually stuck just a bit lower than where it should have rested on the feed lips. I don't know why it got jammed in that way, as I don't own calipers necessary to inspect the dimensions.I understand that one of the reasons for using dummy rounds is to simulate a jam, but this level of malfunction runs the risk of damaging your magazine (and mine was brand new!) or your gun. After that, I dumped them all in the trash, which is where they belong in my opinion.
