This toy is so cute and I love the paint colors and even the box with its adorable rope handle. It’s a fun toy and we’ve actually been using it as part of my son’s occupational therapy while we work on his motor skills with tapping the pegs with the hammer. So it’s great even for children that may be a little older but have some delays. I also like that it’s a wood toy so less plastic and it doesn’t come wrapped in plastic too.

I've never known a toddler who doesn't love banging on things, usually with something like a wooden spoon or stick. The one I received was a tight fit for two of the pegs but that's fine. I hammered them in and the pegs will remain in the block all the time. Hammer them down, turn it over, and do it again. No need to worry about your child holding the peg to get it started unless you WANT to teach an older child how to do that. The item is well made with no rough edges or splintering. The hammer is a nice size and weight, much safer than some of the mallets that come with xylophone toys. There's one area on mine where the paint has some defect, something like orange peel. If this was ordered as a gift, I would request an exchange. Since it is for my grand daughter, it's fine. I did ask for daddy's permission before ordering it because it's a noisy toy. Daddy is a carpenter so I knew he'd say yes and be proud of his hammering daughter :).

Cute little hammer set for little ones. Very noisy as it’s all wooden. Nice quality though. Neutral colours so suitable for girls and boys. Some of the pieces don’t fit brilliantly but I guess with time and wear that won’t be a problem!

This Tap Hammer Bench comes very well presented in a box and a rope handle which makes it look like a quality and expensive toy.The bench and hammer are well made with no sharp edging so safe for little hands in that regard. Obviously it goes with out saying that for small kids/ toddlers best used under supervision as they might bash their hands with the hammer.I really like the soft pastel colours. There are six wooden pegs that can be hammered in. One of the pegs was a little hard to get through the hole but it didn't detract from the over all usage. Will make a nice gift.

We had a plastic version of this toy for my eldest when he was younger and he loved it. Was eager to try the more sustainable wooden version with my youngest but good grief is it loud! I mean, it’s wood on wood so makes sense, but he has a stacking tower from the same company but him bashing those together isn’t as loud as this.It looks very cute and is sturdy, although 2 of the pins are a bit stiffer than the others. I’m going to see if it gets easier over time naturally but if not will just sand the hole out a little more. I do wish the hammer was slightly wider and flat on the head too. The curve makes it a bit more slippery unless the toddler gets a direct hit so we’ve had a few tears where he has hit it hard then the head has slipped to the side, so he bashes the side of his hand on the pins.

So you're considering getting this for a child. Well, I've known a few children in my time, and I can guarantee you they will love this thing. Is the child yours? If so, how's your noise tolerance? Because they will bang on it a lot.(If it's the child of someone you dislike, carry on.)Having said that, if you don't mind the banging, it's a well-made toy. The inside of each slot has four little grippers that hold the peg, so it won't go fly off if it's hit at an angle (which could happen, as the hammer's a little small). The one I received had no issues with pegs fitting through the holes.
