I’ve used this spreader for seed and fertilizer. Had to replace the motor after the first season (it was under warranty and they provided the motor). Used another season and had trouble getting it to work, but it did. This season it is dead. I cleaned and lubricated the feeder after each use.

I was impressed by the design and ease of use. Love the hopper and the easy mounting. Unfortunately it leaves a trail right underneath for uneven application.

I have had several salt spreaders for my UTV and they all somewhat work but not great. They always seem to have issues with chunky salt and adjustments to flow rate. Also, if you don’t clean the gate all the way it needs to be repaired. This one solves all the problems, it’s easy to assemble, the flow rate is adjustable and easy to clean up. It has a small auger in the assembly to chew up the salt as well. The big thing is when you stop the spinner from moving, no salt comes out until you hit it again. This spreader so far is great and look forward to many years of problem free use.

It’s one of my tools. I use all year round from seating, fertilizing and salting in the winter. Just be careful in the winter cold temperatures. It’ll crack and break.

I really like this. I have it on the back of my atv. works great. I use fertilizer, lime and seed for my food plots. The only thing I wish it had was a easier adjustability sizing. I has 4 wing nuts that you loosen and then adjust depth and tighten but there is no gauge to adjust the depth. I would be nice if is has some type of system to be able to crank up or down to adjust the depth to pre determined distance. Maybe in 1/8 inch intervals so it would be more precise.

To help with installation of the band around the barrel, I utilized one of my wood clamps to squeeze it together. I inserted the bolts through one side of the band and through the vertical hitch. Then gripped the other side of the band with the clamp and squeezed it enough to get the bolts theough the other side and attach the washers and nuts. Make sure you don’t cover up the holes in the band on the “nuts” side when using the clamp. It was actually quite easy and frees up the hand that would have been needed to hold the channel locks they recommend.

The strap is a pain and took the longest that goes around the bucket. Maybe consider a chain or grounding strap. I saw myself trying to get this around by hand and then the channel locks slipping and popping off causing damage to me or the bucket. Power would have been nice to have an extra socket and gator clips. I don't have a socket so now I do. The shaft with big bolts doesn't even come close to a quite ride. Over all it is still a five as it reminds me of a machine gun with unlimited rounds. I am going to work on the pattern, the fertilizer went everywhere. Made quick work on an acre. I would have paid more to have it assembled and delivered or at least the motor. Still a 5 for me.

I do like the idea of this spreader but it lacks fit and finish in the design and it's a small hopper size for the price. The instructions are not great, lacking the polish of a good technical writer on a professional product. Wrong spelling/use of word(s), incorrect qtys listed on hardware installation, missing useful information on switch operation, hitch, and wiring harness specs.Switch operation, hitch, and wiring harness specs should also be posted on website for customers. Manufacturer provided some hitch dimensions, but I can't upload those pics from my phone at the moment.I like that the top latches tightly to prevent spills and opens full size for loading and cleaning. Hopper style keeps product in the center, even on a slope. A few small bolts are the extent of an agitator in the hopper. (I was really agitated trying to get information on this unit before purchasing and then putting it together with inadequate instructions. But any mechanically minded person can manage assembly regardless of the instructions. I assembled it by myself.) I used hay string laced through one set of the bolt holes in the band for leverage to pull the band together enough to get a pipe wrench on it and get the first bolt through.I do like that the product feed gate is supposed to close when the spinner stops with one switch so product isn't wasted when spreading and contortion isn't necessary to reach behind to close a lever while trying to drive an old tractor, start/stop, change gears, and turn on a hill.I read reviews before purchasing and I do agree with some negatives. I find mixed hardware of metric and American sizes in assembly of any product annoying. At least list assembly tool requirements. Unnecessarily long bolts prevent using a socket and interfere with installing/adjusting other hardware on the spinner. The hopper halves flex and tend to gap, but hopefully useable. Smaller seed would be more likely to stick it leak. Reinforced thickness where the halves bolt together and/or metal bands with pre-drilled holes top and bottom to hold hopper closed without gaps or some other improvement needed. I did expect hopper to be larger and REALLY wish it was...The switch requires the user to hold it down for operation instead of a fixed on and off switch position. I find this very impractical trying to drive a straight drive tractor without power steering on hills around fences and starting, stopping, and turning often where two hands are needed to drive. I do hope another switch could be designed and look forward to a replacement being available for me to use. Most annoying is that even though a chart is provided to recommend settings for different products, there are no marks or notches to set the spreader opening size. They expect you to measure, set, and mark it yourself! (I expect it to be done already for that price with stamped settings or grooves.) So don't expect to put it together and take off using it right away, you will have to finish setting it up yourself, measure, and mark spreader settings. At least you only have to do it once, unlike holding the switch on to use it which is an ongoing operating nuisance.FYI on the wiring harness provided with my unit: The length of wire is 67 inches from the base of the switch handle to the tip of the cigarette lighter type plug (which doesn't fit well in the cigarette adapter socket - it is longer than some plugs so that the metal springs extend past the adapter opening and fit is a little loose). Wire from the base of the switch handle to the connection on the hopper spinner is 18 feet on my wiring harness. These dimensions were not listed.I purchased a cheap 3 point hitch adapter for my tractor for the 2" receiver on this unit to use this spreader with my tractor, which added to the overall cost. I also purchased an adapter for the 12v cigarette lighter plug to connect to my tractor battery for a power source. I have yet to use it and will update in the future.
