All said and done this works really well.Gave it only 3 stars because out of the Box, it did not work at all. The motor assembly was not installed correctly. But with a screw driver I opened the unit up, set the motor in it's harness seat (easily seen and accomplished) buttoned it up solving the problem.Really does a nice job on meat. One recommendation: Get rid of most fine grate and add a super coarse grate.

This is a great grinder for a great price. I personally was looking for a low-priced grinder for making raw food for my dogs. Another review on here said it could handle bones, and I hoped that they were right. They were! I had a bit of trouble with duck feet/legs, but the reverse button is perfect for jams and clogs, and in the end it handled them with no harm done. It grinds chicken wings without a problem. For anyone looking for a grinder to make their own hamburger patties, ground meats or sausages, you'll have no problem at all.Reverse button is a great feature, and it's not excessively loud. Gets the job done, and I'm happy with it.

So far i am giving 5 Stars but might come back to change (i have done this with other products)so far i have only ground chicken on the coarse disk to make burgers. i ground chicken together with bread and onions.NEVER had to use the reverse function as the grinder never stopped or had a hard time. i understand chicken is one of the easiest to grind so its not a perfect test. I will be doing pork later which will have some fat on it, but not too much.IMPORTANT...to all the haters out there that rate this product 1-2 stars because you say it rusts..you MUST either soak the knife and discs in oil or use cooking spray if you have.if you do not, you have no right to give this product a low ratings. grinder should be rated on its efficiency, sturdiness, appeal, etc, not lack of user experience.i learned the oil tip by reading the reviews and later by reading INSTRUCTIONS (i was new to grinding)as far as dishwasher safe or not, i have no idea, i dont use a dish washer, if in doubt just dont use it.i have seen a lot of people give bad reviews on many different cooking gadgets because they dumped them in the dishwasher and the stainless steel coating came off or the alluminum was ruined etc.. I really hate it when people give bad feedback due to user error. not every product can be idiot proof like a brick. this item is made cheaply so you can afford to have it in your kitchen. dont expect that it will stand up to intentional abuse.PS: as per instructions and based on my experience.... its best to cut whatever you are grinding into long pieces so they get sucked into the grinder better. i only had to use the pusher thing to push down the bread i was adding to chicken burgers, everything else went like butterno excessive noise, i ran it at 2am and i share a wall with neighbors.

Overall is a decent product for the money. When using this particular grinder, you do have to make sure that the meat is partially frozen to keep the fat emulsifying in the auger when grinding. Once the meat is about 50% frozen, it grinds relatively quickly for a small, consumer grade grinder. The only other issue that I had was the noise. I haven't tried stuffing sausage yet but will be in a few days.Cleanup wasn't bad - a bottle brush is definitely needed. Make sure you dry the parts good then lightly coat all meat pieces to stop oxidation and rust from forming. I use coconut oil as it leaves no off tastes and has natural antibiotic and antiviral properties. If you have a limited budget and grinding small infrequent batches this is a good, economical choice.

As a long time professional cook, I am amazed by the ability of this very light weight grinder. Does as good a job as ones I have owned in the past that were several times the price. The real test will be if it has durability. Don't know if I will use it enough to find out.An Update: Now eighteen months later, I need a new knife for the grinder. This manufacturer, like many others who show no sensitivity to customer needs, quotes, the price, including shipping, at $22. As it would only cost a dollar or two to put it in a envelope and mail it, and the whole grinder was only $60, it seems unreasonable to the point of extortion to charge such a high price. I will find another grinder and check that manufacturers replacement part policy before purchasing.

Just short and sweet. So I looked at the various grinders and read most of the reviews. I picked this one because it had more favorable reviews. And was in the right price range I was willing to shell out.I was worried about all the issues with rusting I read on all the other grinders. But I realized all these grinders have the same steel head in the front. So it comes down to ease of cleanup. Power to do the job. And everything else rust proof. So this is what it is.Seems to be an aluminum spout and feed tube. Which is great, can't rust. The motor base unit is plastic housing which is fine with me, as you can completely separate the grinder tube from the base for cleaning very easily.Ran it though probably 10 lbs of meat. Didn't seize up or have any problems. Whenever it hit some grizzle it slows down slightly, but still chugged away. And cleanup was easy. Just turn the black screw and twist off the head and then you can clean up without dealing with base unit cleanup. I additionally oiled the steel head in olive oil before stowing it. Should keep the rust issues away.It does the job, looks nice on the counter top, which is all I wanted out of it.

This a great looking unit and seems to have all the right features, but none of that is any good if the machine doesn't work. I bought this for my mother and she used it once to grind two pounds of meat. The second time she used it, it started up and stopped working almost right away. She is frustrated because she has meat that she wants to grind, but the machine is not working, so she's stuck in the middle of her dinner preparations.
