A friend who is a HVAC tech and an electronics hot shot recommended I install a "Hard Start" on the AC units at both my Florida homes. Things have run smoothly ever since. Very inexpensive and low cost insurance against compressor failure.

I bought a Westinghouse 2550DFC Generator to run a portable air conditioner in my wife's She-Shed. I was using a Predator 3500 previously and it ran the AC fine, however on the 2550 Watt generator it immediately went into overload. The Locked Rotor Amps (LRA) of the portable AC is 49Amps. I added the hard start capacitor and now the Westinghouse 2550DFC runs the AC just fine and the lights in the she shed don't even flicker as they did when using the Predator 3500. I am buying one of these for my RV and my house.

Ac unit on an RV would put generator into protect mode. Put this on, generator is smooth as butter with no problem's! Worth every cent!

Easy to install, took me longer to get the AC open than did to install. As for Amp draws during starting up...gone. no more dim lights or loud motor sound. Perfect works exactly as advertised and easy to follow instructions.

My AC kept tripping the breaker when the weather got really hot. I couldn’t find any auxiliary reason for it so I contacted a buddy in the a/c business. He sent me a link to this part and said put this on and you won’t have a problem. He was right! I watched a quick you tube video on installing it just to keep from frying myself and, in a few minutes my problem was solved. It’s been a month or so and the weather has only gotten hotter. But not one tripped breaker.

This was nearly a plug-n-play installation. My lights would sometimes flicker when my AC started; I have not seen this at all since installing this booster/hardstart capacitor. I wish I installed one of these years ago!
