Your cart is empty. Why need a spring loaded gate caster
Spring-loaded gate casters provide excellent support for gates. They can carry a lot of weight by counterbalancing the load of the gate and allowing it to swing freely. Doing so will prevent the gate from hanging, dragging or worse - being torn off the hinges. An added benefit of a gate caster with an compression spring is the spring allows caster wheels to roll carefully on uneven surfaces without compromising proper support of the gate.
Mounting Tips:
Try to attach the gate caster to the lowest point of the application so that the spring compresses as the caster moves up to the high point.
Try mounting the gate caster as far away from the hinges as possible in order to be the most effective.
Gate casters are not meant to carry the entire weight of the gate. The compression spring provides a shock absorbed ride on uneven ground.

Supports a standard 8 ft farm gate well. Rolls on concrete and dry dirt with ease. The built in shock is great and I love that I can replace the wheel on this one. Since it was ordered to replace the entire set-up for a previous gate wheel we had that did not have the option to replace only the wheel.

I can't believe how solid this frame is. It is very heavy duty. I have to get a handyman to install this for me as I need it welded. But boy, holding it in my hand makes me feel much more confident than the one I've installed now. The version I've now is horrible. The wheel is already bent.I also like that this version allows me to change out the wheel if needed. This is very important. The frame is less likely to go. The wheel will be the first to go and having the ability to change it out makes it worth it.

This is easy to install and holds the weight of the gate to prevent it sagging or tipping the hingepole. It allows me to have a wide opening without a super strong post to hold the gate .

This 5” Gate Wheel is a much lower profile gate wheel then some of the other gate wheels at 6 and 8” inches in diameter. I do like the design where the spring is hidden on the inside rather than the other side of things. The wheel seems much smaller than some of the 6 and 8” Gate Wheels. It is easy to install and has a little bit of an height adjustment with the interior bolt. Overall, It is significantly cheaper than some of the larger gate wheels, but also smaller. It functions well, but I think it will ultimately depend on what type of ground are you going through. If you are trekking this gate through heavy amounts of sand, I would definitely get the larger 8” gate wheels that are much bigger and have a more aggressive tread. If you have concrete or a harder type path, then this should be fine.
