I have on of these that I need to sell I cant get it set correctly and you have to have it fill or it doesnt come out the spreader when low. I try to upgrade from scott elite which is back to my go to spreader. More money doesnt alway mean better quality

Upgraded from a little Scott’s spreader with plastic wheels since we have a big yard. Considered the 40Lb Earthway, but didn’t want to deal with the full assembly and needed a taller standing spreader since I’m 6’3. This perfectly fit the bill. Some assembly was required, but pretty simple stuff and not the ground up operation. Spyker has a great official assembly video on YouTube. To be perfectly honest, this is an incredible quality spreader and I truly don’t get the complains. The first thing I ran was Grub EX that comes in a relatively fine grain. I ran it on a steep slope as well as a flat piece of land and it ran beautifully with very little adjustment needed. Yes, it costs pretty penny, but this thing is built like a tank and spreads beautiful. Don’t think twice and just get one.

Upon assembling the lower and upper handle i noticed they did not fit together at all. The upper handle was way too wide where it mounted to the lower. Even if it did mount it would be bent more to one side. I had to mount in my vice and heat and bend the fork to even get it to bolt together. I got it pretty damb close after an hour. The on/off lever didn't function properly if i assembled it per the instructions. I double checked the instructions many times. I had to modify that as well. It seems to be working as it should now. For the price, the parts should have fit correctly without modification. Im pretty disappointed 😞

For the price they charge for this spreader it’s not worth the money. Not at all. It never spread uniformly no matter how many adjustments I made. The impeller design is horrible too. It sticks up about 2-inches out of the hopper, which makes no sense. The hopper always has to be filled and if it’s not, you have to bounce the thing up and down every 5 seconds to get all of the product out of it. It’s a terrible design for that amount of money. I cut my losses after two seasons. I wouldn’t recommend.

The unit is well made. All bolts and components are stainless steel. The On/Off control works beautifully. It did take a little bit to put it together, but it wasn't hard. I also purchased the side deflector kit, and as others have stated, the spring that holds it either up or down seems too weak. In full disclosure, I did not even try it as it came. I put a small bungee cord on it to help ensure that it stays in either the up or down position. I had no issues with it after using it that way. My only complaint is the hopper cover. They are manufactured WAY TOO TIGHT. I couldn't even get it completely over the hopper, to the point of making it useless for me. I have pretty strong hands, and to even get it somewhat on there, I had to wedge the spreader up against the wall and hold down the other side with my feet while I pulled on the cover to get it on. There is no reason I can see why it needs to be so tight. I guess it should be somewhat snug, but certainly not tight. Fast forward: I called customer service and right away they are sending me another one to replace it, which speaks well of customer service. Will update on that when I get it. Maybe I just got one that was manufactured incorrectly? Anyway, this is a really nice (albeit expensive) fertilizer spreader. Oh, and I do not use this commercially so this should last me many years.
