This PremiumCraft pre-tabbed, pre-waxed and pre-cut square braid wick lineup removes the hassle of preparing the wicks for use yourself. Enjoy the same high quality product as the raw, un-tabbed version without the extra step. Square braid wicks were originally designed for the viscosity of beeswax candles, however, they can still be used for soy and paraffin creations as well. Our primed, waxed and cut candle wicks are ready to use. They have been primed with a natural wax (beeswax), tabbed with a 20mm x 6mm metal sustainer and have been pre-cut to the length of 8 inches. Candle making is more art than science. Test burning candles using various wick sizes is recommended to determine the right size wick for your particular application. Experiment, it's part of the fun! For LARGE diameter candles. Follow instructions on the label prior to use. Total count per package is 50 pre-waxed, pre-tabbed, and pre-cut square braided, cotton candle wicks.
The first burn of a candle is important in setting the pace for how the candle will burn every other time that it's lit. When you light your candle for the very first time, make sure that it burns long enough to melt the wax all the way to the outer edge. This may take several hours. The general rule of thumb is to let the candle burn for approximately an hour per every inch of diameter. It's also important to not overtrim the wick length every time the candle is lit. A wick that's trimmed too short will not allow the candle to burn hot enough and may cause tunneling. A wick that is not trimmed far enough could cause the candle to burn too hot and may cause smoking.

Works well in my 3" candles. I don't use Coconut Wax or Paraffin, so I'm experimenting with different softeners for Soy/Beeswax EO candles and natural stabilizers like Jojoba and Vitamin E. This blend uses 30% beeswax and the wick seems to work fine, reasonable burn rate, and it doesn't look like i'm running into any issues with wicking or capillary actions. (I'm not convinced i can get wood-wick-only to work in my blends.)Testing against ECO8+WoodTube and ECO14, which both work fine. These seem to be in the lead.

Nice brand but had to go a size larger than recommended for beeswax candles

Bought these and a few different sizes and didn’t really have a difference with burning. My beeswax candles still tunneled. Quality was good, no smell and good value for money as I’m just testing out the performance of them.

I honestly think I’m loving these over my CD series of cotton wicks. These are honestly amazing. And what’s crazy, is even though these are a bigger wick compared to a CD 12, the jar doesn’t get nearly as hot as it does at the top when burning the same size candle with a CD 12 or 14. Even though the cost is higher for my overhead, it may just be worth it.

A lot of the wicks you find on Amazon do not have a thickness rating. So to a beginner you think all wick is the same. Well it is not, a lot of other wicks might seem cheaper, but unless your making votive width candles, they will not burn well. For jar candles you need a thicker wick that will last long enough to burn off the wax.
